Hmm. This sounds like a downgrade from BA although I know a lot of people didn't like the 321s. Wonder where they will use the odd 321 now. What is the new schedule?

The same existing schedule of BA162/163/164/165. BA166/167 will be cancelled. I actually liked BA167 - was a very good flight for connections from the US. They should have just left it the way it was...

Well I'm not convinced the A321s will be around for that long and when they go, perhaps we'll see an A787 replace it? One can only dream...

I'd be surprised if someone wasted a 787 on such a short route, but I wouldn't be against it at all. I'd like it to get a bit more burn-in time (all puns intended) before I fly on it though. I'm still avoiding A380s, personally.

I know the TK service to SAW has been reported here, but I saw on the TK forum that they are introducing another IST/TLV flight so they'll be flying 8 daily flights!. Looks like I'll be flying TK even more next year, and yet another slap in the face to LY.

From Airlineroute:

Turkish Airlines in Winter 2013/14 season is expanding service to Israel, as Istanbul Ataturk – Tel Aviv service increases from 39 to 46 weekly from 27OCT13, while adding new daily Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen – Tel Aviv operation. In Winter 2013/14 season, TK to operate up to 8 daily flights to Tel Aviv.

Planned operation as follow.

Istanbul Ataturk – Tel Aviv Increase from 39 to 46 weekly
TK810 IST2245 – 0050+1TLV 320 D
TK811 TLV0740 – 1000IST 320 D

Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen – Tel Aviv NEW 1 Daily service
TK808 SAW2150 – 0005+1TLV 738 D
TK809 TLV0810 – 1030SAW 738 D

LO will increase TLV service by 2 weekly flights (from 5 to 7) by adding 2 weekly E195 (rest of the flights operated by B734) starting this winter:

LO155 WAW1030 TLV1525
LO156 TLV1615 WAW1915
To be operated on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

As usual LO151/152 will become daily in the summer, so in the summer there will be 9 weekly flights.

Ukraine International Airlines to add a seasonal flight from Lviv, operating from July to early September 2014 with a 736.
Added to the sticky...

And in other news, Air One the Alitalia subsidiary may possibly start flight from VCE to TLV, starting end of Jan 2014.
Would be nice considering there are currently no direct flights on the route.

That's good news, although it seems a bit weird that AZ were not able to sustain MXP service but believe AP will be able to sustain VCE service (after all, they could have just let AP operate the MXP route for them)...

The lack of an MXP flight is an embarrassment

ELAL has published their winter schedule (although I'm not sure of the exact dates etc so haven't touched the sticky...)

A few new additions:

LTN: 4 weekly flights (2 last winter)

BCN: 4 new weekly evening flights (departing TLV at 17:55) in addition to the current morning flights, and in total 9 weekly flights.

BKK: an additional flight on Thursdays, returning Saturday night from end of December till Feb.

FCO: new Saturday night flight to TLV
