Actually this is a decrease in London capacity compared to previous years. In July and August 2019 (or was it 2018? I can’t remember), LY operated 3 daily flights to LTN, one of them being operated by 767. Now they shifted the additional flight to STN with revised timing and a smaller aircraft.

El Al suspends HKG and reduces BKK flights

https://en.globes.co.il/en/article-e...hts-1001318293

No surprise here. HKG suspended through March. Beijing suspension extended to end of April. Bangkok reduced to 1 daily flight.
Tokyo flights still going ahead.

Guess we'll only be talking about route suspensions and cancellations for the near future. Looks like the Tokyo route for El Al will not launch on March 11 after all, hopefully they will still manage to launch it in time for Pesach or the Olympics.

El Al is temporarily suspending nonstop flight MIA-TLV until further notice.

Also, ORD-TLV inaugural flight has been postponed it. A new date is on June 28, 2020. Due to coronavirus.

Yup, sure is. They will be back. I'm sure corona virus is resolved soon. It will be over soon.

BA resuming LHR flights, and Air Canada from Toronto and Montreal.
Plus United is increasing Newark to twice daily and restarting San Francisco flights.

Virgin Atlantic to double LHR-TLV service in 2021

The first route increase of service after corona
https://www.jpost.com/israel-news/vi...-resume-627756

This is good news , as the prices on LHR-TLV have had a significant premium over LTN-TLV, with only BA and El Al flying the route until last fall.

I really love how JPost writes about the schedule:

The first daily flight will depart Tel Aviv at 7:20 a.m., arriving into London Heathrow at 11:00 a.m., and will return departing London Heathrow at 10:30 p.m. and arriving into Tel Aviv at 5:35 a.m. The second will depart Tel Aviv at 5:20 p.m., arriving into London Heathrow at 9:00 p.m., with the return flight departing London Heathrow at 08.45 and arriving into Tel Aviv at 3:50p.m.
Sounds like their hub is in TLV.

In other words:

LHR-TLV 08:45-15:50
TLV-LHR 17:20-21:00

LHR-TLV 22:30-05:35
TLV-LHR 07:20-11:00

Folks probably seen this, but Etihad just flew ito Tel Aviv for the first time. EY9607, an A330 carrying covid assistance for Palestinians. Nice circuitous route over Iraq and Turkey.

The bloggers gave it some front page coverage earlier today

https://onemileatatime.com/etihad-airways-israel/

https://thepointsguy.com/news/etihad...tes-to-israel/

TPG took a moment to explain the circuitous route by using LY83 to BKK as an example.

And apparently the PA refused to accept the assistance.
