Me too! To this day, I still love McD's, and go there any chance I get. I've redeemed the 99 cent coffee deal more times than I can count. Far as I'm concerned, beats Starbucks, all things considered.

Yes, sorry it's "Dunkin." I suspect part of memory is trying to repress and forget my lifelong enjoyment of their coffee and donuts. LOL I was probably there every morning when I had worked for some time in Manhattan.
PS - Rare in the west coast, but whenever I see one, say in Vegas or some malls, I'd literally make a beeline towards it.

I like to collect the McD's coffee stickers for when the stupid Monopoly contests occur throughout the year.

During the $1 promos (Canada's is $1, not $0.99) I always get XXL sizes.(Based on your Bob's Donuts and Polk reference, a quick google seems to indicate SF area.

Swans is good plus they now have Dungeness crab, but I last ate there in 2012.
so I really also love Johnny doughnuts and I went there once in 2020 :-). They cost more than Bobs. Theyre larger.
I wouldnt mind another trip to Bobs donuts or Johnny doughnuts. But I did have nice donuts on New Years Eve so I probably cant justify going for doughnuts for awhile.

Getting back to coffee...... how do people select their beans? Ive got a good local roaster who has a rotating mix of 12-15 blends and single origin beans from the usual places.
Ive been spending a bit of time trying to decipher their cupping notes, and come to the conclusion Im more on the caramel/spice side of the flavour wheel than the citrus fruit end.
Does anyone use cupping scores or is there a way to attribute geography to taste? I started out ordering Ethiopian beans but I found them typically to be towards the fruity/acidic taste and Ive had more success with Central American and Indonesian beans.

I buy mine at The Epicurean Trader so I trust their curation and acknowledge that they still carry some bean inventory that was roasted 2-3 months ago; I buy whatever is the most recent roast date based on $16.99 for 12 ounces. They have a blend from 4 Barrel, who have a partnership with Tartine. My preference is really based on the roast date.

I measure by tbsp and then grind my beans seconds before making my daily coffee. Every morning. We recently stayed away and had a bag of ground coffee from Mr Espresso (Oakland); we had excess which I took home and boy did I love the convenience. Of course, now back to the grind...
