Yes. Twice.

Once in Saarlouis and once in Mannheim.

I must say it was underwhelming.

I haven't eaten at their restaurant, but I have been known to pick up a soft serve ice cream at the end of a shopping trip.

When I was living in Tokyo a friend took me to have horse meat and whale meat. (both raw) They also have horse meat baby food in Japan. What is the big deal...some cultures eat cows and some eat horses.

Erm, that's all well and good as long as they're advertising it as horse meat.

Have A Taste of Swedish Easter at IKEA

With the holidays (and spring break) fast approaching, it's time to celebrate Swedish- style.

IKEA locations all over the U.S. will celebrate with their annual Swedish Easter Smorgasbord dinner called Paskbord.

Paskbord is a "mouthwatering" all you can eat smorgasbord. If you're a fan of Ikea's fine dining, then this is the event for you!
According to the Merriam Webster Dictionary smorgasbord is

a luncheon or supper buffet offering a variety of foods and dishes (as hors d'oeuvres, hot and cold meats, smoked and pickled fish, cheeses, salads and relishes)

Paskbord 2013 takes place on Friday- March 22, 2013 from 6:00- 8:30 pm

The Cost:

IKEA Family price- $9.99 per person, Children 12 & under $2.49
Non-member price- $12.99 per person, Children $4.99

Seating is limited so if you are interested, head over to your local IKEA to purchase tickets to celebrate with a Swedish- Easter dinner.

Sign up for IKEA Family HERE to save on Paskbord and to get other member discounts.

I used to love IKEA food, but with the horse meat scandal and now the feces in the cakes.......

Come on, we just have no idea what the heck goes in our plates, and not only at Ikea! I hope this great shop and food stop will make the best to restore its good reputation (meatballs and the likes)

I find it (strangely) depends on the IKEA. When i was in the UK they were pretty bad, but other places i've really enjoyed them!

Sadly I frequent the Croydon one in London and the Emeryville one in the SF Bay Area. The meatballs seem fairly identical.

I have eaten at the one in Elizabeth NJ probably a dozen times. I really like the food there, and its always fun to surprise a friend when they insist it isn't possible to eat at a furniture store.

I've never been inside an IKEA store let alone eaten in one.
Never had a reason to...
