As with all others, Ill wait to consume until what I consider to be credible sources try it first.
Last celebrity endorsed liquor I drank was Popcorn Suttons unaged Tennessee whiskey which was financed by Hank Williams Jr. I gave the rest of the bottle away.

Lord, his Mangria was a hot mess and now about to be divorced, Adam needs to sell more swill. This bourbon may barely be aged, just caramel color added.

It's not bad. It's probably exactly what you'd expect from someone who got started by drinking Canadian whiskey. Soft, sweet, I could probably serve it to just about anyone and they'd not be offended by it, but anyone seriously into bourbon probably finds it a bit unexciting for a nearly $70 bottle. I got a couple autographed to give to some Bulls fans who happen to like whiskey as Christmas presents.

Coors anyone?

Coors is getting into the whiskey business with a bourbon blend. The product, Five Trail will hit the shelves in September with a suggested $59.99 price point. More here.

I want to buy a bottle of bourbon for a friend as a thank you...maybe $40 max. What do you all recommend? It seems that maybe Woodford is a favorite here.

BTW...I had an interesting cocktail that sounds weird but was really good. It was basically an old fashioned but with a small amount of banana puree added. As odd as it sounds, the banana really smoothed it out and didn't make it taste like bananas.

Can I invade this thread with a nice Martinique rum that is aged in a bourbon barrel?

This is tasting nice right now.

Eagle Rare 10 if you can find it has an MSRP $35-40 and is a very good gift in that price range.

Here in NC it shows up in waves but increasingly longer gaps between them unfortunately so YMMV

You might be able to pick up Basil Haydens or Woodford Reserve for $30-35. Read the labels carefully as Woodford makes other products. Those are my go to every day bourbons. Good middle shelf drinks that everyone should feel comfortable with whether drinking neat or mixing.

BevMo had the Woodford for $29.99 so I bought it. I may get a tray to make giant ice cubes or spheres to go with it if I have time.

My regulars are now Old Tub, the unfiltered BIB 100 proof from Jim Beam and the 100 proof Cooper's Craft from Brown-Forman.

The Woodford and big ice cube tray were a hit. Now she just has to hide the booze from her husband---not that he has a problem, just that she wants it to herself.
Thank you everyone for the ideas and help.
