Richmond, VA - Lemon buttah (butter) cake

Quito, Ecuador - llapingachos and fresh jugo de naranjilla

Chicago (if I didn't already live here) for an Italian beef at Mr Beef (juicy and hot peppers) and deep dish pizza at Lou Malnati's

I definitely agree with tazi & ILP about Bestiari in BCN...everything I've had there was fantastic but oh...the foie...

Singapore - the murtabak, the chicken rice, the bak kwa, the char siu, nasi goreng, etc...

Bali - babi guling (especially at Mozaic...yummy)

Granada - Ruta del Veleta

I flew CAE (Columbia, SC) - SFO for Clam Chowder in a Bread Bowl

I was working late one night and my co-worker and I had a craving for Clam Chowder in a Bread Bowl. We started to call some local restraunts to find a place that would serve Clam Chowder in a Bread Bowl. Since it was fall in South Carolina this proved to be somewhat of a challenge. Every place I called was out of bread bowls. So I did the only logical thing a FTer would do, I booked the first flight out to SFO to get Clam Chowder in a Bread Bowl down by the pier. My co-worker was shocked.

Hmmm. Pizza at El Establo? Have you had other pizza's around town? Wondering how it compares to my current favorite at Romario. But I agree pizza in BsAs is a relatively unknown to travelers great local food reason to go.

Yes, another favorite of mine is Pizzeria Guerrin - about a block north of the obelisk on Corrientes - which is also great. I have never seen so much cheese on pizzas as they have in BsAs. It has been there for 75+ years and is always jam packed, although I've only been there at lunch. You can also buy by the slice.

Germany for the best breads in the world, rouladen and schnitzel

Luxemburg for a gourmet restaurant in Ahn that serves small deep fried fish out of the Mosel river. You can eat the whole fish including the bones!

Girona Spain for the best mussels I have ever eaten. They were shapped like 4 inch long fingernails and I have never seem them anywhere else.

Brussels for the best chocolates

Paris for the best croissants

Vegas for chinese food as Mayflower Cuisiner (not near the Strip!)

Texas for BBQ and Whataburger burgers

Anywhere in Cali for In & Out burgers

Palm Springs for Shame on the Moon

I could go on forever but I'm getting hungry now!

I would go back to Budapest just to eat at Szent Jupat's. Wooden plates, cheap beer and gigantic pork schnitzel When we went back to Budapest in July 2005, we ate there like 3 times in a week.
