Another thing that, as someone raised in the South, I find neither particularly unique nor particularly good. Good road food if youir options are limited, and that's about it.

______ Korea>>>Bulgogi, Samgyetang, Galbi, Moksal, and other amazing dishes. I am so going through withdrawals right now. I miss Korea so much, I am depressed to be back in the US after being there for half a year during a university exchange program

Try Koreatown next time you're in LA or NYC. It's not the exact same thing, but it's a very good substitute. In LA it's around the intersection of Western and Wilshire, and in NYC, 32nd St between Broadway and 5th.

Or you could get on a plane to ICN for the most expensive bulgogi you'll ever have in your life.

London in August, to eat grouse with bread sauce at St. John, or the marrow bones any time.
Barcelona for the duck egg on french fries at Tapas C24.
Singapore for the oyster omlette at Gluttons Bay, or the chicken rice at Maxwell Road market.
Paris, for the Cote de Boueuf at Restaurant Robert et Louise.
Vancouver, for the onion tart at Le Crocodile.
