Once again: so wise.

Ice Cream needs texture so any additions like chips or fudge or caramel works.
There MUST be textural contrast -- chips, nuts, etc. -- or it is simply not worth eating. There also must be chocolate syrup.

A lot of folks here drink their beer with ice in it. That seems wrong as well.

That's just plain sad.

I've read most of the posts here, and think there are quite a few squeamish folks out there. There really aren't many things I won't eat, and probably enjoy.

Perhaps critters that are still alive when you eat them.

No wait .... oysters. Love 'em. Most other live things, though.

It seems very much a particular ethnic thing.

During the summers here there are quite a few people who put ice in their beer. I do admit to using a "floater" when we order pitchers of beer in the summer.

An abomination.

I'll happily eat your share. Roasted, pickled, boiled, shredded raw on salad. MMM! I especially like the pretty golden kind.

No fried foods
No fast food
No sodas
Whole wheat/brown foods whenever available: bread, pasta, rice, crackers, sugar, etc.
A meal must always contain vegetables (lettuce doesn't count)
If thirsty, drink water

I think it's over between us.

:p :D

No ketchup on anything...EVER. French fries must be eaten with Ranch dressing and I am not talking about Hidden Valley or anything else out of a bottle. It must be made fresh. :D

Mustard in place of ketchup

Bring on the sushi/sashimi with lots of wasabi, soy sauce (lite sodium), and ginger

Absolutely no celery on anything. If the food in question contains celery, I refuse to eat it

No cucumbers

Won't eat "real eggs" only egg beaters/egg substitute

LOVE all other veggies

Love all fruit...bananas are my fave but will not be consumed if they are too ripe. I prefer them hard and with slight greenish colour

My morning coffee will only be consumed once it has sat in the mug for 10 minutes to cool a bit. I do not like steaming hot coffee but do like it very warm.

Absolutely no Miracle Whip on anything...lite mayonnaise is ok.

Milk has to be ice cold but no ice cubes

Grilled onions make a fabulous topper to sandwiches, salads, etc but I will never eat onion raw.LOVE grilled onions and LOTS OF THEM

Guacamole is fantastic but won't eat plain avocados

Diet soda over regular soda...water is preferrable with lime or lemon

That is all I can think of off the top of my head. I know I will have others when I think of them.

Do you not eat lettuce? If you eat it, why does lettuce not count?

Does that include soup/stew? Virtually impossible to make proper vegetable or beef stock without celery, even if you don't include the cooked celery bits as solid in the final soup/stew.

If at home, coffee is to be drunk black in the mornings.

If on an airplane or at a restaurant, and there is real cream, or good half-and-half (although a somewhat oxymoronic phrase), coffee is to be drunk thus.

If in the afternoon or early evening, and cream -- not Half-and-Half or milk, but cream -- is available, that is the first choice. Otherwise, black.

I have one, over-arching food rule:

I am always VERY nice to people who handle my food.

O/H

Absolutely agree with these two. I especially can't think of any good use for marshmallows.

Also, when drinking a soft drink from a paper cup, the cup should be grasped so that the seam of the cup aligns with my fingers.

OMG! as soon as I read this, I realised that subconsciously, I do this too, except the seam must be aligned with my thumb!

Salsa should never, ever contain kernels of corn.

I recently bought some that did - one scoop with one chip and into the trash it went. :td:

If you run the jar, well the contents anyway, through the blender you can salvage it. In an emergency, better than no salsa at all.

But tomorrow's grocery trip will include some Pace.
