Ruth Chris in New Orleans, the one across from the Hilton Riverside. For some reason, that Ruth Chris location is way better than any of the other ones I have been to.
Also, go on a Wednesday night and you can see some of the Saints players.

If I am not misteaken, I believe that is the original restaurant in the original location.

Capital Grille and Grill 23 in Boston are my favorites. I've had hit or miss experiences at Morton's.

You are misteaken, the original Ruth's Chris Steak House was located at 711 North Broad Street in New Orleans.

I wouldn't have remembered the original location address if I hadn't just watched a show called "New Orleans Food Memories" on the local PBS station where they had an interview with her son. I looked for it online, but alas it isn't available online.

Aha, the "wink.gif" doesn't appear on my browser, only when the source is listed. Without it, I was wondering if you were serious.

I love Mastro's in Beverly Hills. Just got back from Cut a few minutes ago, and man, was that American Wagyu awesome! My fiancee got the New York Sirloin Dry aged for 35 days and it didn't seem as good as the steaks we get from Mastro's, but I tried the American Wagyu Rib Eye and it was easily the best steak I've ever had.

When it comes to American Beef I like (in the right order)

1) Mastros, B.H.
2) Wolfgang's B.H.
3) Boa's, W.H.
4) Wolfgang's Tribeca
5) Peter Luger's, Brooklyn
6) Fette Sau, Brooklyn

In BsAs I highly recommend the old Mirasol next to the Sheraton. Unbelievable taste, Las Lillas is more touristy.

If in Cologne, Germany do not miss out on europe's oldest argentinian steak house: El Gaucho. www.el-gaucho.de Authentic and just great. For germany they started the trend.

I'll second the vote for Bern's in Tampa.

Also Manny's in Minneapolis is one of my all time favorites.

I eat at Ruth's Chris a lot anywhere I am but, believe it or not, the Ruth's Chris at the Mohegan Sun in Wilkes-Barre, PA is the best Ruth's Chris I've eaten at. Everything from the food to the service is above par.

My favourites are:

* Bern's (Tampa) - not just for the steaks, but for the wine selection and the dessert room

* Craftsteak - I prefer the Las Vegas location, but the Manhattan one is almost as good

* Sparks - people are dying to eat there! Great atmosphere, great service, can get a little loud sometimes

Wolfgangs Tribeca is a strong contender, too.

I have never been to Peter Luger's, though, so it could bump Sparks off the Top 3 list if it lives up to its billing.

No question, in my mind, which is the best.

I have been to:

Morton's all over
Ruth's Chris all over
DelFrisco's in Vegas and Houston
Peter Luger's in NYC
Wolfgangs in NYC
Harris' in SF
House of Prime Rib in SF
Bobbo's in SF
Barclay Prime in Philly
Mastro's Beverly Hills
Pappa John's in Houston
Smith & Wollensky many locations
Capitol Grille in Boston and DC
The Prime Rib in Baltimore
Bone's in Atlanta
(Geez, I've eaten a lot of red meat in my life...)

These are the restaurants that I can remember off the top of my head. And out of all these, there is only one restaurant that hands down wins for me:

Mastro's City Hall Steakhouse in Scottsdale, AZ.

This, in my opinion, is better than the one in Beverly hills. The steaks are always just done perfectly, with the right amount of salt, perfect tempreature, and perfect texture. These are the best steaks I've ever eaten.

For me, the runner up is DelFrisco's. They have fabulous steaks also and are a close 2nd. But Mastro's City Hall (not the other Mastro's in Scottsdale) is just awesome.
