You may be different, but if it were me, I'd throw in some restaurants that either aren't Michelin starred or not as fancy as some of the ones on the list.

Oh and congrats on the wedding

Haha, completely agree! My mom makes fun of me for even stepping foot into "fancy French restaurants"

Thanks. We have some other restaurants mixed in as well, but wanted to hit the ones listed. The big one for me was Guy Savoy - always wanted to go.

Mine would have been L'Arpege, but that's just me

My visit to Guy Savoy (July 2013) was fantastic. Easily the best meal of my life. We got the 12 course menu, and while it cost an arm and a leg, was 5 hrs of perfection.

Joel Robuchon in Las Vegas has begun serving an a la carte menu in its bar. One can order some of the same dishes that also appear on the main restaurant's 18 course tasting menu.

i think the majority of the michelin *** restaurants are not french. i do not have a count, but there are a bunch of ***'s in japan, for example.

when wife and i go to japan, we eat in a couple dozen ***'s each trip. not a one french.

started doing it 'again' as they had a la carte in restaurant (not bar) from spring 2007 until jan 2015
from jan 2015 until at least may 2015 they still had prix fixe from $127 (vs Degustation $425 / $445)

guy savoy (vegas) still has a la carte menu (and $150 prix fixe 'special')
interesting they now have cooking classes with the executive chef
krug room now only 2 person minimum, $500pp 10 course, 2 glasses krug

The difference from the past a la carte offering may be that, in 2016, there are menu items that are developed for, and served exclusively, in the bar (in addition to the selected items from the main tasting menu).

Or possibly, things normally served at L'Atelier, which is next door.

Was happy to get a short notice reservation at Petrus and then read that the head chef left in February, etc., etc. Never ends. Will see how it goes anyway
