I recommend Gabriel Kreuther for French food (2 Michelin stars) in a great dining room.
Cote NYC is fun for a group of at least 4, otherwise you have to share the grill.

I look forward to hearing what you think. Will have a couple of nights in NYC at the tag end of an East Coast trip before returning home to YVR. There's lots of choice for sure.

Based in the US here too.
I think Alinea will feel like Ultraviolet. You are there for the performance. While each dish tastes good, it feels like they are in the supporting role to the story the chef is telling.
I actually really like Daniel. For NYC, highly recommend Cote and Jua. Mixed feeling about Aska and Odo. Definitely avoid Estela (okay food, but bad attitude).
Will check out Le Bernardin (along with Atomix, Kochi, Wallse, Casa Enrique, Rezdora) next month.

I love KBBQ and have heard great reviews about Cote, but I feel like in principal there's no such thing as Michelin-Starred KBBQ. IDK I just feel like KBBQ shouldn't be rated "like that" even though I can't explain why I'm not a fan. Same with Jeju Noodle, just feels like Michelin doesn't know how to rate Asian food outside of omakase.
You should try, if you haven't already, Jean - Georges or Aquavit, during my visit to NYC I heard great reviews about both of those and Modern and went with the Modern instead. I have been always wondered if I messed out on something great.

I havent been to either since the pandemic but before that Le Bernardin and Jean Georges have been favorites for decades. Jean George has had some other restaurants around town that I have also liked. Le Bernardin really excels at seafood. In addition to being great for the rest of the year Jean Georges (and for that matter Daniel) have great Thanksgiving dinners.

A few updates from NYC
Kochi - delicious, great flavor combinations, worth the abalone and uni add-ons
Wallse- fantastic service, beautiful space, everything tasted great, loved the desserts
Atomix - highlight of the trip, best service anywhere (friendly, attentive but not uncomfortable), beautiful food that taste amazing, definitely worth a trip
Caf Enrique - very friendly waitress, got the mole and chilaquiles that she recommended and they were the best I’ve ever had
Rezdora- again excellent service, love the atmosphere, great pasta tasting menu
Le Bernadin - service was perfection, enjoyed every course of the tasting menu, all highlighting the seafood very well. Lunch on a Monday was fully booked

Molino De Urdaniz Taipei
Dinner set menu, NTD 4680.
Innovative Spanish inspired cuisine, lots of smoke infusion into some of the ingredients or sauces.
Highlight was the suckling pig.
Worth a visit if you can't make it out to the flagship restaurant in Spain.

Hello everyone, I recently dined at the new Noma (i.e. Noma 2.0) last month, in September, during their Vegetable Season. Full report can be found here (Link to external SQTalk site). It was a wonderful meal. I never had the opportunity to dine at the original Noma. Keen to hear impressions from folks here on the difference between the original Noma and Noma 2.0. Thanks!

Michelin FINALLY ventured into Vancouver and will announce their stars/awardees tonight, 7:30pm local time.
I personally hope a long-time favourite of mine makes it, but we shall see!

I returned to Nightbird (San Francisco) and it’s still excellent. Photos in Dinner thread.
