most fish tacos that I see in this style are breaded. I prefer fish tacos not breaded so am curious. I can’t order these at restaurants because of the preparation (so I would get other taco flavors instead) |

do you bread the fish for frying? Or is the cod just taken from package to pan and fried? Which oil?

I can't think of a single place in Chicago that sells breaded fish tacos -- here it's a pretty even split between grilled fish tacos and battered fish tacos. |

Just dry dredged in a flour-salt-pepper-chili powder mix and pan sautéed in peanut oil.

Same here...only grilled or battered & fried in restaurants.

Here in Philly, I’d say it is 90-10. 90% grilled, 10% battered. I’ve never seen a breaded fish taco.

Veal marsala. Delicious!

Really? It is fairly common here. Like a battered filet that you would get with fish & chips but obviously small enough to fit in a taco. They are very good.
i used to work in fisherman’s wharf and served fish and chips in a batter. I guess I just enjoy confusing myself with breading and batter for food. |
