Tonight was even worse than the last time I posted on this thread (leftover pizza). Tonight was a bag of microwave popcorn and I don't have the wife being out of town as an excuse!

KathyWdrf Nov 11, 2002 9:14 pm

cblaisd, when are you inviting me over for dinner? http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttravel_forum/wink.gif

I don't cook. Soy demasiado perezosa. (I.e., je suis trop paresseuse.)

Right now I'm eating some delicious dim sum that I bought on Stockton St. in Chinatown. http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttr...orum/smile.gif

I was in Chinatown because I had a dental appointment there today. (My previous dentist was in Chinatown too!)

SMessier, I never suspected you were such a connoisseur - I always considered you more of a whine expert!

It promises to be a most excellent vintage, I must say! I didn't think it would be possible to beat the Baron de Lidl 1998, but this one may do it!

This evenings repast consisited of a Shrimp Cocktail, followed by a Sourdough Clam Chowder Bowl at Newport Landing in Balboa, California.

This was topped off with a frozen banana, dipped twice in chocolate, and coated in chocolate sprinkles, at the nearby Fun Zone.

Our dinner consisted of several drunken girls ordering Papa Johns in a 3:1 ratio of what we ordered vs. what we would actually eat.

My place reaks of pizza this morning.

Potato/onion pakuras, yogurt and bread. Bit of red wine. Have gained 10 pounds since June, so I need to watch it!

PremEx Nov 16, 2002 3:43 pm

Tonight (unless a better offer emerges), you may find your humble narrator dining seulement, and finding before him a veritable feast of the chef's culinary skills.

A delicious Italian meal! Fresh (before it was slaughtered and then frozen) broiled chicken tenderloins served with vibrant garden vegetables. Accompanied by authentic fettuccini noodles in a creamy rich Alfredo sauce, enhanced with Parmesan cheese.

What was that I heard? How can one dine as does royalty like this, you ask?

My dear own lady Holly is an expert in meal selection, and advises me often on how best to enjoy the finest foodstuffs ever to emerge from a micorwave oven!

Flush with envy no longer, dear reader. A simple click on her name above, and I share her, and her knowledge and wisdom with all my FlyerTalk friends.

And no need to thank me. You are very welcome.

I love to cook, but Mrs. b works nights, and I hate to cook for only me. It looks like a Michael Angelo's lasagna again tonight.

alanw Nov 16, 2002 4:58 pm

PremEx,

I cannot thank you enough for connecting me with Holly. Though I am a little, um, confused. There is a recipe for Cheddar and Sausage Fritata. Being a big fan of Italian food, I was eager to try it.

The first ingredient is:

1 package STOUFFER'S® Macaroni and Cheese 12oz, defrosted

Holly says it's a great brunch dish, but I'm not so sure...

I had a grilled Cheese sandwich made with Kraft Fat Free White American cheese.

cblaisd Nov 19, 2002 9:50 pm

Ground beef, guacamole, and jalapeño nachos from La Tapatia in Concord.

Oreos (holiday version) for dessert.

Burp.

I just asked this fellow for a hand with dinner and he obliged. http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttr...orum/smile.gif

pointsgirl Nov 20, 2002 5:29 am

Last Night I had a potato with Ketchup.

cblaisd Dec 23, 2002 8:21 pm

Tonight's was a wonderful Pasta Jumbalaya at the Pasta Primavera Cafe where my family took me for my birthday dinner http://www.flyertalk.com/travel/fttr...orum/smile.gif

IndustrialPatent Dec 23, 2002 8:29 pm

My very warm "happy birthay" wishes to you, cblaisd!

cblaisd Jan 19, 2003 1:24 am

Tonight:

Garlic sesame boneless baby-backed ribs (my own creation http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif ) grilled over mesquite charcoal and thyme, baked potatoes (cooked over rock salt), romaine salad, sourdough bread.

Last night:

A very good sausage and fennel pizza from the new gem-of-a-restaurant in Clayton, La Veranda, preceded by bacon-wrapped shrimp appetizers, and followed by coffee and chocolate. (If you're in the SF East Bay this is a superb find; excellent food well prepared and costs about half what you'd find in the City).

Tomorrow night's supper will be much more pedestrian.....

cblaisd: belated birthday wishes (I was traveling) from a fellow Capricorn. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Those ribs do sound delicious - but boneless?? I thought the bone is what makes ribs so tasty ... ?

They were a bit different; perhaps that's why they were on sale http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif I think they'd be even better with the bones. When the weather warms up (note to midwesterners: Here is where you insert your comments about California weather wusses who don't know what "winter" is) I will get some bone-in ones and try doing a slow-smoke instead grilling.

In the spirit of keeping stereotypes alive - I'll be having another variety of chicken for the third time in four nights. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

lili Jan 21, 2003 11:44 pm

Tonight, omelette with tarragon and white cheddar. All that was in the house.

Yesterday, one bag Southwest peanuts -- couldn't get the second bag open.

But I had enormous, wonderful lamb shanks on the weeked, cooked by an ambitious friend.
