How was it? We've wanted to go for brunch but last I checked they haven't reinstated it yet. I'm keeping an eye on your restaurants and pics as I work from lovely Michigan. Keep them coming!

On Monday, I picked up a marked down 56-day dried aged striploin steak (a few more days is not going to hurt it) and 3 rib rack of domestic lamb, and then went to another supermarket where I found 2 whole racks of Australian lamb marked down and I had a points/money offer so it was close to half price (~C10/lb).
So Monday night's dinner was the steak grilled, and the lamb grilled in Chinese/Central Asia/Uighur style (szechuan peppers, cumin, coriander, fennel, garlic dry rub). Last night's was one of the full rack done the same as the previous night, which will also be Thursday's dinner. Rosemary and garlic is just so boring..

Joes tomatoes

lol...I suppose that was another party member's unfinished meal. Perhaps "The Child"? In any case, it made me crave crab. I doubt the Meijer store or Walmart in southern Michigan carry stone crabs so I'll have to wait

My child didnt finish the joes cheeseburger. $24.95 isnt going to waste.
my spouse AND their sibling both didnt finish their individual seafood salads ($28.95 each) and didnt take it home (???). So I ate them. Super yum.
I actually only ate half my chicken and gave the leftovers to the other spouse.
In the dessert end, I ate a modest bite of key lime pie and 2 bites of the brownie dessert.
Ive never found stone crab outside of joes seafood. However, they sell Alaska king crab for $99.99/lb as current market price and some people here might recall that I buy cooked king crab at Costco by pound for $29.99 or maybe even $35.99 by now and its phenomenal. Im glad to have had the stone crab and really now know that I can just do the king crab on my own.
the other spouse and I discussed grilled chicken. I mentioned the crispy skin from braslvrs genius suggestion.

Paying 100 bucks per lb seems very high for King Crab. The crab that I purchase from Alaska goes for 60 per lb, and I wait for a sale to drive down the price. Its worth itas the shell fill rate is high (something that makes a huge difference in purchasing crab), and the legs are truly Colossal or Jumbo. Not just pr bs.

My goodness. Those wedge salads are huge. Mrs. PhillyGold and I would definitely share one as an appetizer!

the seafood salad is huge. My spouse and their sibling each got it as an entree and not appetizer :-)
joes seafood is like a Ruths Chris / Flemings / palm type branded steak seafood business restaurant. Great food service etc. i almost NEVER go to the Ruths Chris / prime rib / Fleming / alexander restaurants in my own city so Im pretty sure that id almost never go to Joes if there was one in my City even with the stone crab. Maybe.

Middle of nowhere, my in-laws have a summer lake house about 45 mins south of Kalamazoo. If it's Plum's Market, it appears those are in the Detroit area. I can work from here with good internet and can have the pontoon boat out on the lake in about 10 minutes whenever I want...I think that's a good tradeoff for no crabs, so I won't complain!
