Pork tenderloin with a honey mustard glaze, diced potatoes, and green beans. A nondescript but perfectly fine weeknight Burgundy alongside.

Rock cod, which I marinated for a while in some of the excess liquid I saved from the pig stew (a green sauce), and then pan sauteed. Added some lemon and garlic, and cooked the brown rice in some of that liquid, too. Add some fresh broccoli, and voila,

I grilled the sausage for my luncheon :-)
I made way too much mashed Potatoes on Friday... ditto for the gravy. Also ive been extremely busy with work as Im relocating my solo office and I cant hire someone to pack my boxes during pandemic because then Id have to mask up. Last time I moved, I only needed a 3-hour person to pack it all. So the packing is really tiring... and I still coincidentally have a lot of leftovers. Go figure...

Michael Solomonov posted a picture of a parsnip schnitzel. Unfortunately, without a recipe.

Night 1 of our second (and final) One Off Hospitality 3-meal subscription. Tonight is from Publican - one of my favorite Chicago restaurants. It doesn't feel like a very Publican-like menu, but still looks good to me.
  • Radicchio Salad with Pomegranate and Roasted Squash
  • Curry Roasted Cauliflower with Spiced Pumpkin Seeds
  • Braised Beef Short Rib with Celery Root and Red Wine Jus
  • Chocolate Cremeaux with Salted Caramel

We enjoyed the meal. The short rib and dessert were both very good, but everything was tasty. I guess there wasn't a starch, although the celery root puree kind of acted like one. I'm a big fan of celery root, but it was under-seasoned. Better with the beef sauce over it last night .

There is a Publican outlet in the AA terminal. I've never eaten there. I've heard it's good for the airport but not as good as the restaurant in the West Loop, which is what one would expect.

I've eaten at the T3 once. It's ok as airport food goes (I prefer Frontera), but not as great as the West Loop. The roast chicken is solid.

Funny story, we were walking into the one in T3 and my husband stopped and said made an exclamation similar to what he makes when he spots a fellow Deadhead in the wild. I look at the guy who's about to pass us and think, you don't see many black Deadheads. Then look at his shirt, which is the typical giveaway, and realize it is a Chi-raq shirt (I think), look back at the guy and realize it's not a Deadhead but rather, Spike Lee.

sad and I guess it makes sense during pandemic. Thanks for the tip.

we tend to eat at Publican T3 during luncheon so its all about sandwiches and pretzels. So good. So fun. Im glad to know about their actual restaurant because we never considered that possibility :-)
