Crystal Cove shake shack, crystal cove, Newport Beach CA: not part of Danny Myers’s shake shack empire eta - Pacific Coast Highway - Highway 1, inbetween Laguna beach & Newport Coast roads. Only entrance is driving South on PCH (Hwy 1) fish tacos with fries (I had asked for fish & chips but hadn’t paid attention to the order recap) queue wasn’t too bad. Views are stunning. Amusing to see people with carryout because even walking to the beach with this kind of food isn’t the best choice. Tadki Indian via DoorDash Chase Dashpass - I remain convinced it’s Zante’s
delivered 15 minutes after ordering… goat curry - extra spicy chicken vindaloo - extra spicy plain rice we returned home around 9:15p and after unpacking the car etc, it was time for me to get the Asian food I’ve craved all week - yes there’s of course stunningly great Asian food in Southern California and it’s what my family wasn’t craving all week. salmon pre-blackened at the Walmart fish factory. Fishy tasting and the seasoning had all the flavor of food coloring. 1/2 baked potato and chopped Asian salad. I bought a 5# bag of Idaho potatoes at Aldi and there were 5 potatoes in the bag. We each struggle to finish half of one. |

Had Dinner yesterday at the famous Cattlemen’s steakhouse in Fort Worth (it’s now owned by Taylor Sheridan). Had an excellent meal with great service. Shared the 32oz Dry Aged Tomahawk with the friend I was attending the FEI World Cup with sides of creamed spinach and mashed potatoes. The Onion Rings were the appetizer (we initially weren’t getting any appetizers until we saw thebig stack of delicious onion rings heading to the next table). Dessert was a Raspberry Crumble
