Fonda San Miguel in Austin as an early celebration for Father’s 79th birthday (as I’ll be out of town on his actual
birthday) - the queso fundido (shared amongst 3) was good as were my chicken tinga quesadillas - we had crepas de cajeta for dessert (not pictured), which I really liked but the parents said were too chewy https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...e785a42b1.jpeg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...6e73f8ff4.jpeg |

Serrano’s was my childhood Tex Mex - I’ll never forget the hijinks my brother and I would have with our waiter, Alfredo, who often brought us a whole pitcher of water so he didn’t have to deal with refilling our glasses - he was a silly goose. I hadn’t been back in some time, and while they changed their chips a few years back, I did enjoy my meal - queso and a half-order beef fajita quesadilla.

Leftover chicken vegetable soup. An opportunity to draw down the surplus of Parmesan cheese I somehow accumulated. |
I've been helping my parents move to town over the past few weeks and, along with work, it's kept me going nonstop. Dinner this evening after a long day of moving boxes, replacing electrical outlets and learning how to replace toilets at their new house was Slap's. I got my usual three rib + burnt end combo, while my Dad got the large brisket sandwich. Delicious as usual and no line on this way too hot March Friday afternoon in Kansas City, Kansas.

Carmelo’s Tacos in Seattle - the queso didn’t look good but was pretty good (I would probably get guacamole instead as I used to, though) - the asada quesadilla was as amazing as I remembered
