An interesting mortadella pizza delivered from Sapori near Belen - it was kind of an American style pizza with Italian toppings - not bad

Thursday:
school lacrosse banquet. Potluck! I made Southern Mac & cheese from the nyt recipe - it uses eggs, milk, and buttery butt!

friday:
play date with fellow school fathers from our kids elementary school days
Mazra delivery
scotch
legal California drugs

Saturday - maybe I just have a cold. Maybe Im under sleeping. Maybe I overdid it on Friday. I felt woozy all day. after driving and fetching our son to his golf and party fun, my wife and I lost a chance to get supper and I ended up ordering Chinese while she had a Mariannes frozen chocolate-covered banana (balboa island style)!
mission Chinese DoorDash:
mapo tofu
rice
beef chow mein (I chose beef over chicken because it was the same price and we all know that beef costs 5-8X the price of chicken)
wonton soup

Tonight seared foie gras paired with a lovely local Late Harvest Petit Manseng as well as seared venison medallions with black truffle mashed potatoes paired with a 2021 Kirkland Saint Julien and both enhanced by a 10 yr Tawny Port/Aged Balsamic reduction.

Tonight- Seared Foie Gras on top of a seared Filet Mignon and a Marsala Cremini Mushroom (didn’t realize I was out if Madeira) pan sauce made after the foie pan after it was seared. On top a Black Summer Truffle slices. Paired with a 2022 Kirkland 2022 Chateauneuf de Pape. Will be improving on this concept over the next few days

Costco prime ribeye boneless steaks - $19.99/lb - I bought the cheapest package which was 2 steaks of different thicknesses. My wife prefers medium rare plus so I googled and did the sear and bake in the cast iron. Now Ill google how to clean it because I rarely use the cast iron.
my steak was 1 and a bit too cooked at medium rare in the all-clad steel pan, just cooked stovetop.

trees
onions
hasselback potato - the crispier the better!!
