From last night at Cafe Un Deux Trois for SoupDo #18!

Started off with a bowl of French onion soup.

My entree was the steak frites au poivre cooked to a medium rare. The cut of meat was excellent and the portion decent.

Dessert was creme brulee

It's almost a crime to pair that gorgeous steak with coated "Sysco type" fries IMO.

Copra, sf:

cocktail - something with bourbon

chutney assortment

lentil dumplings
rasam poori chaat (liquid in small lentil cups)
shrimp

fried chicken

black cod - with rice
mangalorian chicken curry (not Mandalorian!) - with a rice-based kallapam (tortilla)
lamb curry - with kal-dosai tortillas

Desserts:
mango pudding with tamarind syrup
coconut gods with shaved ice

note - the food was extremely delicious. Nice cocktails. it is extremely difficult to imagine returning to this gorgeous restaurant. Service felt only 95% AVERAGE and not perfect.

I would hope that such a place is cutting their own fries. Today’s luncheon at The Kebab Shop in Walnut Creek mind you…
