Seeing as you've been away from FT (this thread anyway), I trust you have had regular meals in the meantime. ;)

Today's lunch (crispy chicken and vegetalbes with fried rice) came with a surprising, though not exciting, inclusion.

The napkins I collected with the takeaway meal were both printed (on one side) and embossed.

Embossed with: Advertise here (and a website for the company)
Printed with: a telco ad promoting a special phone & freebie offer.

The lunch was okay but I'm annoyed that ads have intruded this far.
From coffee cups with advertising, we're now onto phone-offer napkins!

I just wanted to share this experience - the ads left a sour sensation at the end of my lunch! Are your work lunches and coffees ad-free?

Breakfast: Cafe latte, gluten-free, dairy-free, fun-free pancakes (purchased for my visiting niece and nephew) with maple syrup

Lunch: Whole wheat bagel, hummus, micro-lettuce mix.

Dinner: Spectacular dinner cooked by our friends: Castello cheese (like cambezola) and crackers; a whole bunch of grilled mini-vegetables grown bytheir local community service agriculture organizaiton (mini-carrots, mini-parsnips, mini-broccoli in a very geometric shape, mini-zucchini and zucchni flowers, mini-beets on swiss chard), halibut, scallops, littleneck clams and grape tomatoes sealed in aluminum foil and cooked over the grill, and blueberry cobbler.

DH brought home a loaf of Panera sourdough bread. Okay, but not special.

Dinner last night was sharing the cheese pizza with visiting kiddies - adult pizza had anchovies and olives among other horrors. But we had an astounding variety of Bindi frozen Italian deserts from the local pizza hell. More than made up for the anchovy issue. And fresh watermelon. Guests left an unused container of whipping cream. What to do with that?

Today there was no breakfast. 11 am lunch a double cheeseburger at McDonald's served with warm water in a plastic bottle in my car while driving 80 mph. (I had things to do and places to be.)

Dinner: rather nice grilled burger and homemade potato salad with !!ta-da!! frozen baby lima beans (cooked). I absolutely LOVE them. With a rather nice cabernet.

Trying to watch the waistline so my choices today are from the Zone diet.

Breakfast: Bowl of low fat Kellog's Granola with 2% milk and coffee

Lunch: Grilled hamburger patty with a slice of toasted low carb 7 grain bread, low fat cheese, big slice of tomatoe and a pickle slice

Dinner: Grilled Salmon filet with fruit salsa and a side salad

I know...its boring but at least it's healthy. Kind of went off the diet this weekend because we ate at Roy's Hawaiian and I cannot resist their Macadamia Nut torte. Salad appetizer and the Mahi Mahi would have been okay but I had to have the darn torte! :)

Brunch: Scrambled eggs with a bit of homemade Italian sausage, diced jalapeņos, and swiss cheese folded into a flour tortilla.

Dinner: Johnsonville smoked bratwurst in a bun with some Clauson dill pickle slivers and Guldens mustard, and a side of yellow crookneck squash from the garden. First time I've tried the smoked brats. ^^^^ Excellent!

Br-un-ner: garbanzos and rice
Late-night snack: a Fuji and Tillamook sharp cheddar

Today's food is as plain as possible.

Weet Bix for brekky
Americano (we call it long black) espresso

Beef pie and potatoes for lunch.

Possibly a roasted rack of lamb and more taters for dinner. :)

It's filling but I'm hanging out for some spice!

Breakfast: Standard weekday Mrs. Fields muffin (today was Boysenberry), with OJ.

Lunch: Lamb shoulder kebab in a pita with not too much sauce and a fair bit of vegetables.

Dinner (planned): Eggplant Parm and a dinner roll from an Italian grocery store.

Snacks: 2 Le Petit Ecolier cookies and a glass of hot chocolate.

What should I eat today?

I'm going to start off with leftover chinese (shredded pork from the best Sheshuan restaurant to the city), then we shall see.

Another thread here got me thinking about crab. I don't know if I want to mess about with soft shell, so I might just buy some snow legs and steam them. Or lobster. Hmmmmm... decisions decisions.

Small meals during the day, better than 3 main meals: coffee and waffles, yogurt with a slice of bread, almonds and mini croissants, then pasta and fruits for dinner ...

Hey!!! ;)

---

Today I'm going to start off by making the girl some breakfast (it's the least I can do). My specialty is shredded hash browned potatos fried in either bacon or duck fat. Since I'm going to make bacon anyways, bacon fat it is.

Then it's green stuff for the rest of the day. I have great lettuce, some local PA green beans that look nice, and some zucchine.

I'll probably stove-grill some lamb patties too, because I don't want the meat to go bad.
