Nothing beats a still warm bagel!

I'm not talking about the crap you get at Dunkin Donuts or most chains but the real boiled then baked bagel. Toss in an occasional bialy and I'm in heaven. Sadly, the more the bagel has become mainstream, the harder it is to find a real one.

In our house we are very traditional when it comes to breakfast. We eat bread, hotdog, fried eggs and either milk/coffee/hot chocolate. When still have time, sometimes I prepare fried rice with fried foods such as fish, chicken. I make sure that we eat a hard meal on breakfast because all through out the day, you need an energy for all the works we do.

Scrambled eggs with Mexican chorizo and fresh flour tortillas along with my homemade salsa.

Pho. It'll cure what ails you any time of day.

I particularly like this description of a Filipino breakfast from the Los Angeles Times (2008):

"A typical Filipino breakfast is like an American diner breakfast crossed with a garlic festival: a garlic-fried egg over garlic fried rice with a side of sweet garlic-pork sausage."

Great pictures on Turkish morning delights. Have an early morning arrival at FRA in a few weeks, maybe head into town into one of the Turkish bakeries for a slightly smaller breakfast spread.

In Bogota, Colombia we had a really good but odd traditional breakfast. I am actually not positive about it being traditional but this is the way the locals eat the meal.

You are served a cup of hot chocolate with a chunk of white cheese and a roll on another plate. You dip the cheese in the choco and then eat it with the bread.

When we visited the restaurant an elderly local woman showed my wife and I the way to eat the meal!

Weird, fun and tasty!

In the mid-West US, I also like chicken, biscuits and gravy. So unhealthy and filling but really good. Good thing I am not from the mid-West or I'd probably put on 20 lbs with those kind of breakfasts!

Can't get enough of the Thai local favorite: Khao Mun Gai

Perfectly boiled slices of tender white chicken on a bed of rice cooked from the chicken broth. This is accompanied with sauce made with ginger, garlic, chillies, and soy. Cucumber slices and fresh cilantro leaves serve as an absolute garnish.

Between bites, are slurps of hot chicken consomm with Chinese winter gourd.
