I would be shocked too, if I didn't see it for myself so often. Then again, the average person drinks the amount of soda pop in one day that I do in a year....
Diet Coke is less of an evil to its regular counterparts.. but its sad that people have to resort to pop for breakfast to satisfy cravings..:( |
Orange Juice or Skim Milk.

Why not? I don't drink coffee. Juice is loaded with sugar (and in many places in Europe the juice is canned crap). I will drink low fat milk if I have something sweet like pancakes, French toast, etc. but with something savory, Diet Coke is perfect. :)
Isn't CO2 an issue? |

Also, the natural sugars in fruit juices cannot be compared to the contents of diet coke. I mean c'mon. You will also find some great juices in supermarkets and small shops now. Innocent being one. I've never had 1 customer (that I know of) order a carbonated sugary drink for breakfast. Thank god. I mean it's just not palatable. |
Usually a large coffee is my breakfast. But if I have food then I drink some sort of juice then coffee.

Diet Coke

I really shouldn't need to tell anyone why having a fizzy drink loaded with sugar first thing in the morning is just Plain wrong.

Eh? There is no sugar in **Diet** Coke.
Neil The sweet flavour releases insulin from the pancreas to enhance the uptake of sugar by the cells so that it doesn't linger in the bloodstream. Once insulin is released it inhibits the HSL hormone. This hormone is responsible for releasing fat into the bloodstream to be used as 'fuel'. Instead the body will use amino acids and carbs to use instead. The result is that all this will leave you tired, moody and abnormally hungry. There was an interesting study by Professor Davidson that 'diet' carbonated drinks are making people overeat without conscious awareness. Anyway, not what I choose for breakfast for a taste or health point of view. |

Either water or a protein shake for me. I try to live a healthy lifestyle despite being on the road.

Absolutely. But as this thread is called "what do YOU drink with breakfast?" not "what should someone drink with breakfast?", I think we should leave it at just our answers.

Been cooking a lot of fish recently? ;)
(Sorry...) |

No more than usual. Restaurant sells considerably more meat than fish.

I enjoy fresh brewed tea with spearmint leaves or fresh squeezed lemonade with spearmint leaves.
