Our local IPA Fresh by Civil Society. They were doing unfiltered and juicy before it was popular.

Had Hardywood Park's Tropic Like It's Hot earlier today. It's a sour which is ... cloudy lavender in color. Flavors are good (assuming you like sours), with pineapple and passionfruit. The color comes from pea flowers?
It's the center beer in the flight below (others are, right to left, Horus MF Masumoto sour, Off Color's Yuzu Fierce sour, Commonwealth's Pink Fluffy Unicorn TIPA with guava, and Saucony's Maple Mistress). The sours in the lineup were phenomenal, FWIW. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...f2f7203ad5.jpg |

Evacuated to Anniston Alabama. Lunch yesterday at Cheaha Brewery. I had a 5 beer flight with Oktoberfest, English Bitter, Farmhouse ale, Schwartzbier and Berry kolsch. The berry kolsch was the highlight of the flight, very refreshing. If it had been later in the day, I’d have stayed for another of those but had to pick up my grandson from school. Back at the HGI last night, ordered “ a lager “ (Yeungling) at the bar. |

Ugh, PBR. It's what my girlfriend has at her house and it was this or nothing. Not sure I made the right choice though.

Time for a new girlfriend if that's the extent of the beer she stocks.

Well, at least PBR is considerably better than Old Milwaukee, Keystone, Natural Ice, and most all of the other discount beers.

I may stop by Dicks before I head home. I brought a gun and no ammo. The hazards of a last minute decision to leave before the storm.

Not even sure I could. As a Tennessee resident years back, I was told I couldn’t buy a pistol here in AL. I do think the law allowed me to purchase a long gun, though. The bar at the HGI where we are staying has on display every cheap macro brew known to man. Busch Light? Really? People ask for that? Then I realized I’m 20 miles from Taladega and it’s race week. Your girlfriend into NASCAR? |
