Troegs Crimson Pistil IPA with hibiscus flowers. A decent IPA made more interesting--but not sweet for those of you thinking of Mexican agua de jamaica.
...I swear I don't volunteer for work in the US just to drink IPA. (it's really for the PQMs) |
St. Arnold Art Car IPA. My first beer since Monday!

Alberta Genuine Draft.

Sam Adams Octoberfest. First of the season. We slummed it at Applebee's to drink last night, because $2 Sam Adams Octoberfest drafts? :D

That’s funny. We were slumming at the O’Charley’s bar last night. I saw the O’fest on the tap and texted a friend to join us. No $2 deals though and I was drinking Sweetwater IPA’s. My friend waits all year for the Octoberfest season. All too soon it will be replaced with their winter ale. |
Big Rock Brewery's Rhine Stone Cowboy Kolsch style ale.

I found a really tasty bomber in the clearance cart at the grocery store today. A Stone 08.08.08 Vertical IPA on sale for $4. I promptly chilled and really enjoyed it. The most recent Untapped check ins I could find from my friends were from 2 years ago so one wonders where this single solitary bomber was hiding...

For our NYC residents, I had dinner at Circa Brewery last night in Brooklyn. Good beers and tasty food. Their NE IPA was quite good and the Rye Pale Ale was well done.
Food was way better than I expected. |
Yellowhead Brewing Co. based in Edmonton has a signature lager that's become a new favorite and am enjoying it now. I toured Yellowhead's microbrewery which is housed in a 100+ year-old building on the Alberta list of heritage buildings and met the brewer Lisa who oversees production. Great Fri. afternoon after work diversion.

Mangrove, a mango flavored wheat beer from Oyster City Brewing with dinner last night. This is what I have the growlers filled with when we stop at the brewery in Apalachicola. It went very well with grilled mahi-mahi with a pineapple salsa.
