In time for St. Patrick's Day:
Guinness Murphy's Irish Stout Wexford's Irish Creme Ale Guinness Nitro IPA (which is surprisingly tasty) Also had a growler of Boulevard Single Wide IPA and a 32 oz. bottle of Fordham Thin Mint Stout. Also tried Leinenkugel's "Helles Yeah" which went over pretty well. Not quite up to the genuine Munich brews, but pretty good. |

Seems the foray by Guinness into different beer types is pretty successful. I picked up another 6 of their American Blonde Lager - confirmed my opinion of a nice choice for an easy drinkable brew.
Also tried Leinenkugel's "Helles Yeah" which went over pretty well. Not quite up to the genuine Munich brews, but pretty good. |

Was treated yesterday with Founders Centennial IPA , with a classic IPA bitterness with some citric overtones. Rushed to the beer shop to get a couple of six-packs for the fridge. Has a 98 p rating by RateBeer

Got some Blood and Soil at Blue Island yesterday.
http://blueislandbeerco.com 9.1% Belgian saison with rose hips and hibiscus. Quite nice with some sweetness upfront and tartness on the back. $8 for 500 ml bottle. I am waiting for their brewmaster to put out a version of the rye he did before at another brewery. That beer was once #1 US barleywine on beeradvocate.com. Spectacular stuff. Should be out in January they tell me. And they are barrel-aging some. Barrel-aged will be amazing. |
Belgian Moon and a six-pack of Pilsner Urquell.

Heading home from a week in South Korea and Japan and looking forward to enjoying real beer again. The ubiquitous Cass in Korea and Kirin Ichiban in Japan hasn't been doing it for me.
