Picked up a 6 pack of Sierra Nevada Otra Vez tonight because it was $6.99 at Specs. It's not bad, not great; not my first choice though. Super light and kind of fruitish.

Stumbled on a six-pack of Brew Dog Tokyo.
Too serious beer to be left in store... ;) |

I posted elsewhere last year that I found a six pack of a Sierra Nevada product marked down on the endcap at Target. I couldn't find anything wrong with it, not past its date, so enjoyed a decent beer at half price. Sometimes life just lays thing like that at your door. |

It's a gose. [sp] I'm not a fan of sour brews. I spotted it on the beerlist at the Brass Tap yesterday. [...]
I was not wild about sours, either, until my last trip to RRBC. All I can say is: Supplication and Consecration, to die for. I'll quote a guy that I met at the pub who was drinking a goblet of Supplication: "I don't even like beer and I love this." Words to live by.

I stuck with a couple IPA's ( New Belgium Citradelic and Swamp Head Down Deep) and a Founders Oatmeal Stout to finish.
This afternoon it was Green Flash Contract-brewed Alpine Hoppy Birthday followed by Pliny. |
No, gose and gueuze are two completely different styles of beer.

Not as much as there was Thu, before the snow storm, that's for sure! Between being relatively house bound and the 6 hours of football yesterday, the fridge is starting to look kind of bare!

Wrong order! Just like with wines, there is an optimal ordering. Just as it is unwise to chase, say, a Cabernet with a dessert wine, it is unwise to chase an IPA with a stout. |

Our supplies are dwindling too, thanks to the storm, and a lack of work today.
I did discover that this storm crystalized the beers that I like and don't like. My beer supplies are dwindling, and what I have left are the same beers that I always have left at this point. Which means I didn't love them that much to drink them when I bought them, and none of my guests liked them very much either. I have to figure out a way to make them go away (without dumping them down the drain). They are taking up valuable beer fridge space! |

Sadly, while my office is closed, it's not a day off unless I use leave. So, no beer for me, at least until the last conference call is done late this afternoon.

Beer bread, beer can chicken, etc. When I have beers I don't like, I use them in cooking and baking.
Anyhow, good point, and it gives me something to research. |

Good point. I buy mostly bottled beer, so the beer can chicken (which we do a lot) isn't suitable. I'm not big on baking, but do use it in a fair number of dishes - mainly chili and stews.

Yes, I found almost all of those while slogging through various conference calls today. I guess that's one benefit of working from home! :D
