There are several beers I'd like to try: Julius, Hillstead Farm, Dinner (by Maine), Pliny the Younger, the Alchemist... but none of them are distributed in my state. Is there a secondary market to find this stuff and have it shipped?

IME, Pliny the Elder is better. I thought the 11% ABV in PtY was not well-masked when I tried it. A similar triple IPA that does a much better job of masking the alcohol is Kern River's Hop Nookie, which is bottled. Dunno where you are, but I've been seeing it in Total Wine and Hole Foods. |
Sweetwater Blue.
Tomorrow I am shopping at the new grocery store that opened up last weekend. It’s called Luckys and they’re out of Boulder, Co. A coworker told me you can get a draft beer while you shop. I like the sound of that. |

Not bottled, so you have to queue up when a bar with an RRBC account has a keg.

I'm on Biggie Smalls' coast, and sadly I can't also get Dinner, Julius, Heady Topper, Hillstead Farms. They do not distribute here and I'm very good friends with a high end liquor store, so he gets me what he can. For example, just picked up a sixtel of "Another One" and PVW 23 yesterday.
There are some fantastic local breweries here, but I'd still like to try these legends. Around SoCal, many of the craft beers are distributed by Stone, believe it or leave it, and it seems to be constantly changing/growing/moving. For example, there is a couple of breweries whose products were very hard to find out here for years: Alpine and Kern River. Both brew some of my favorite IPAs: Alpine Duet, Alpine Hoppy Birthday, Kern River Just Outstanding, Kern River Shuttle Bunny, Kern River Hop Nookie. Over the past year or so, both Alpine and Kern River products started to become widely available. Prior to this, they were almost impossible to find, to the point where I had stopped expecting to see them except on rare occasions. I'm not quite sure what changed, but it is welcome. Those beers you mentioned have impressive scores on BA, so maybe one day it will be possible to find them. Distributors are always looking for something new, and the competition for shelf space means there aren't many constants. |
Firestone Walker Oaktoberfest
Clown Shoes Baked Goods |
Samuel Adams Boston Lager. No complaints but that was all I could find on the beer menu at Olive Garden last night. I do not care for Italian beers.

I actually woke up feeling great until I realized it was a workday.
I recently hit a milestone in my beer life that I'm gearing up to celebrate next weekend. I'm finally getting my plate on the wall at a local beer bar for 200 unique beers consumed. It's a small chain, but only a couple of you live near them: https://www.beerknurd.com/locations |

They have a nicely stocked beer aisle and will do growler fills too. ----- Last Monday we went to Old Chicago for Monday Night Football and I tried a Modern Times coffee oatmeal stout. Then I tried two more :D Good thing I wasn't driving... In the fridge is Lumberyard Kaibab Kolsch ^ |

21st Amendment Brew Free or Die blood orange IPA. The beer was good. The music that accompanied it was nauseating. I like 99% of the acts that play at my local outdoor bar. The guys today were in the 1%. Show tunes and country music are two of my least favorite genres.

Is this the same Lucky chain that's in the San Francisco Bay Area?

I don't know about the laws in NY, but out here I believe a major impediment for brewers is distribution requirements. Not a lawyer, so I could be quite wrong, but as I understand it, here on the left coast a brewer can only sell directly to customers at the brewery. Any sales off-site have to be routed through a distributor. Obviously, the choice of a distributor is important.

For those of you keeping track, yes, we go through a sixtel+ a week during the summer. Friends, neighbors, etc... are over here at least twice a week--so it's not me drinking that much! Just got a line cleaner so that I can put Another one by Maine Brewing and Citra A$$ down by Against the grain on tap. |

A friend brought me Uncle's Cousin by The Veil. Really good stuff. Can't get it in MD even though it's brewed in VA. Anyone tried it?
