Eh, I don't. I do love sweet/malty/fruity & then all the way on the other side with sour stuff. But yeah, the US, especially West Coast, is all about hops. Maybe I just don't get it? The stuff I'm drinking usually though is not all that "mild" so to speak. I just can't really take the hop bitterness.

Just ordered a keg of Sweet Action from http://sixpoint.com/ for a Keg Party in NY in 3 weeks. Decided to order something we can't get in the UK that everyone in our group could drink. Anyone tried it?

Just out of interest, why do members think that Americans like super hoppy beers? The are so many IPAs in the US, whereas here it is more about Goldens, Ambers, Lagers; much more subtle flavours than just a huge hit of hops.
Any thoughts? Incidentally, I tried Sam Adams Spring Seasonal last night (Alpine Spring) and was thoroughly disappointed. |

I still haven't acquired a taste for beer, but I keep a variety of Franziskaner stocked for guests. I'm told its much better than the American stuff.
I, for one, would never put my mouth to Miller, Coors, or Bud. I find Franziskaner bad enough... |

Try a Belgian fruit beer. Kriek (cherry) or Framboise (raspberry), depending on your taste.

Old Milwaukee.
I'm all over the road with my beer buying and some days standing in the beer cooler I opt for the premium brands and other days I can't be bothered. I must be the worst consumer as I'm so fickle and just buy whatever strikes my fancy at that instant. :D |
