I'd love to, but it depends on a lot of variables. I'll admit, I didn't read the entire thread yet, but what is the NDA all about?

A Delta "DO" has been on the wish list for many here for a very long time. I will attend regardless of city chosen.^

The first PBI-FLL Meet was originally designed as a Delta Forum Meet (in fact, its original name was "The Great Delta Forum Meet"), but we decided to be open-minded and allow both the riff and the raff from other airlines to attend.

70+ people now?!?!? holy snikes!!!!

in regards to the nda, i was the one that suggested it. why? well when i started making a list of things that i felt worthy of sharing, i was immediately worried that i wouldn't be able to without having an nda. so i figured i'd start with the most restrictive and "relax" if possible. better to be able to reduce restrictions than add them IMHO.

as i started reaching out internally to get the ball in motion, this is the event that is most often referenced. i'm not sure how many were in attendece, the circumstances, etc for it though.

Accordingly, I have posed several suggestions to DeltaWebDev on what to offer and schedule for this event.

and i'm working on seeing just how much of it i can manage. i'm spending much of this weekend bouncing between working on the website and putting together a rough itinerary to present in a meeting on monday. Canarsie suggested timing it with the delta block party. That's May 16th, and i think its probably the best suggestion/timing for a multitude of reasons.

Just to be clear, are we discussing a Delta sponsored event or an informal Delta FlyerTalker DO?

it started as a question about a DL DO and i chimed in to stated that i had spoken with Canarsie in regards to it along with getting preliminary approval for the 2 groups of 8-12. so that's really as far as its gone so far. well there is the poll too. :D

Guess what I'm saying is I think it's important for ALL of us that this event move forward, even if we cannot all be accommodated.

i agree completely and totally. if it ends us as just the 2 groups of 8-12, then so be it. however i would say that no one should expect anything to the same level of CO's. the size and cost of that is well beyond what i could organize.

I understand that Deltalina will only attend if DeltaWebDev attends.

now that is just absurd. we ALL know that its best to keep developers locked in the basement. it helps ensure we all get the same uniform CRT tan you know. ;)

I hope we aren't putting DeltaWebDev on the hot seat.

as long as i'm not committing to things i can't, i'll be fine.

It was still pretty heavily dominated by Delta fliers. And there was a pretty infamous core group that is still hanging around here for the most part...including all 5 that witnessed the infamous "Your Room at the Ramada has a safe" line.

That is amazing. Wasn't that first PBI meet in 2003...5.5 years ago?

It was in 2004.

I'd be happy to volunteer, though I am not in ATL/ATG. It would be quite nice to put names to faces--your's included!

mikey1003 Mar 7, 2009 1:07 pm

It ain't gonna happen. (If sponsored by DL...IMHO, They won't do it again)

I am in Atlanta, don't have to travel, and already practically live at the ATL airport, so you can count on me to help out with whatever help you need, before, during or after. No job too big or small... :)

Now that you mention it I do remember, I had every intention of showing up but had a last minute business conflict. Hopefully will have a chance to make up for that "miss" soon.:D

Will there be games other than the potential Dunking Booth?

Maybe "Pin the PMU on the donkey?" Or a roulette wheel with seat numbers?

A kissing booth with Deltalina? Award Ticket Blackjack? Waitlist Poker?

You did miss Jerry Grinstein dancing to the disco song Y.M.C.A. by the Village People at the 2007 Delta Air Lines Block Party, and one can tell he was really enjoying himself. Jerry really knew how to get a crowd going.

I cannot promise that Richard Anderson will perform a similar activity, if he is indeed in attendance...

Maybe an Old Testament type booth, with Jeff as the star? ;)
