Well, CVG is a southern airport. [It's not really in Ohio but over the river.]

Correct, KY. But actually cvg was doing fine. It was weather elsewhere causing inbound flight issues. Happy to say I am in the air on my last segment.

CVG generally does quite well since it has all the equipment of a large hub, but only about half of the service. I can't remember the last time I've experienced a weather delay at CVG that was caused by weather in the local area. It's always somewhere else.

Anyone ever taken a 3PM TATL flight before? Are they are brutal as they look? Looking at a 3PM departure from ATL, arriving 0600 AMS.

The 3 pm departure isn't so bad unless you're trying to do work stuff in your office that day. The horrible aspect is the 6 am arrival into AMS or CDG if you're not connecting onward. You're likely to be homeless in the city for many hours before being able to get into your hotel room.

Take a benadryl or two and sleep. You can be awake and bright and chipper when you arrive at AMS.
