Flying on another 737 tomorrow. Oh the horrors. Hoping for a last-minute Airbus swap.

You've never been to Austria or Switzerland before? I thought England was part of Europe.

I'll do you one better. Last November, I was visiting a client in Kolding Denmark...which is literally the middle of relative nowhere, 3 hours from Copenhagen and 1 hr from the airport in Billund (where the only item of note is Legoland and Lego HQ). Though the local food is quite good in Kolding. Who knew.

Amex is our corporate travel agent and I had a 8 leg ITN due to required stopovers in AMS and Geneva. Amex misbooked the beginning of my return journey from Billund to AMS. After I caught their mistake, I called to rebook. No big deal.

I get to the Billund airport for my short, 6pm flight back to AMS (and looking forward to flying to Geneva the next morning to see an old friend). I was surrounded by LegoKids and a surprising number of departures in the middle of nowhere during a school week. And oops, come to find out my old ticket was not cancelled and re-issued (and my ticketed flight left, oh, 6 hours earlier, without me on it).

After 2 hours on a conference call (I had to call a colleague and have them conference in Amex because AMEX's non 800 wasn't working), we determined there was no way I was getting to Geneva the next morning, even if I flew to Germany, flew to France, flew to Copenhagen, or even drove to Copenhagen to fly from Copenhagen to Geneva the next morning. I spent an unplanned overnight in Billund (at basically a hostel), re-ticketed on a return that included a full travel day (with 2 stopovers) spent getting from Billund to Geneva (which should have been 3 hrs, max), I was faced with a massive unplanned ticket fee then credit from AMEX...and no additional thank you, credit, well wish NADA for Amex's double screwup.

...Even professionals make mistakes

PS...this was the biggest screwup in 14 years of nonstop travel, so not a bad record at all.

PPS...If you are traveling to Billund, double check your tickets and beware of an army of 5 year olds dressed like Lego Men. Because if your flight is screwed up, you are there for the duration. But at least the Chicken Fingers at the Billund airport are good (tho I didnt care for the local lager).

I wish I was joking. Since early December, my work schedule has been beyond insane. I barely have time to sleep, let alone laundry. Luckily, last weekend, things eased up. 8 loads of laundry later, navi_jen is sparkly clean (well at least her clothes are).

I stay below 80 for fuel economy reasons.

Flew ATL-LAX on Tuesday and they swapped to a 757 from an A321. Was in F and much prefer the A321 vs the new 757 refurbs. Must have been one of the first 757 refurbs as the C+ seats said "Economy Comfort" on them.

Morning denizens. Flight is delayed by 1.5h. Auto-rebook was as useful as always (not), but I found something that works.

You can't just stop there! Now I won't be able to get anything done until you spill the beans.
