You could always books a seat with miles or a refundable cash ticket and just wait to pounce when a window seat opens up. I imagine that there will be a few as the early speculative bookings will be cancelled if the PAX cant actually make the trip.

Not yet, had to also figure out the logistics of getting to that flight and getting home after, which I have now figured out. So as soon as I see another window seat I'm jumping on it.

For those who are on the flight, I have a huge favor to ask.

Little back story, I run a non-profit in the Dominican Republic helping under resourced children. I am trying to get these kids interested in scheince we have a weather station etc. But would be really cool if someone on this flight can take some pictures and give me permission to use them to teach the kids.

A lot of the kids here, their parents and religious leaders are telling them that the world is ending and the sky will be dark (even though down in the DR not so much) because of their sins etc. So I want to teach them the science behind it.

Im going to cancel my middle seat and refund the ticket.
if I were the window guy, I wouldve been selfish too not worth $1200 without knowing wed have some proper arrangement.

I would love to know if they would actually offer travel vouchers to people who are there and willing to give up their seat .

they said they would zig zag to allow both sides to see

I’m sure they’re being very careful not to oversell the flight and “surprise and delight” any standby passengers.

After all, these flights are just printing money for Delta. Can you think of a higher grossing $/pax for a mid haul domestic flight?
