if you value comfort, go virgin both ways. The seats are nicer and they didn’t shove them as close together so when the person in front of you’ reclines they’re not in your lap, you can still cross your legs.

why would they need to actually give you better service food etc? People are paying for what they’re currently delivering.

Delta PE is a nice step up
I just got back from some TATL flying and wanted to share my experience in PE. I flew Delta on the way to Frankfurt on an A333 and then AF on the way back on an A359. After all of the negative talk about it, I didn’t go in with high hopes and was pleasantly surprised. Delta was hands down better in all categories.
The hard product was much better on Delta with a more comfortable seat and more space. DL’s service was very attentive and welcoming while AF was hardly around. The food was much better for the meal and snack on DL and while the wine was better on AF, their drink selection was terrible. Few options and no alcohol in PE. Overall, it’s a worthwhile option, especially since it wasn’t much more, at an upgrade of only $300. |
Cross-posted on meal choice thread. Delete if not ok please. I have flown Premium Select on Delta a few times before and I don't think I ever got to choose my entree. This is ATL-ICN, although I am pretty sure I took this same leg on PS before. Is this a recent change? I just got the choice email and it got me so excited, even if it's likely the same choices I would have in economy (chicken or pasta haha). Any recs for one of these 3? I'm gearing towards the short rib:
1) Roasted Bell & Evans Chicken Leg - fingerling potatoes, broccoli, lemon herb jus2) Pasta Mami's Wild Mushroom Tortelloni - wilted spinach, roasted tomatoes, black truffle cream3) Korean Braised Beef Short Rib - purple rice, mushroom, broccoli, sweet soy sauce |

My meal selection for next week JFK-FCO. Seems same as delta one also, except they had a 3rd choice of short ribs.... besides app and dessert difference |

Regarding the comfort of the PS seats, has anyone here, who has conic back pain, survived these seats for a 16 hours flight from ATL to Seoul (ICN)?

In summary - almost zero jetlag. Seats comfortable as can be expected. We had bulkhead - booked very early and overpaid for the privilege. Food was excellent - top-5 (ever) in my time across airlines (ex-Gulf 4 and Singapore). But to your question - it was worth every penny. For a $30k family vacation, spending an extra $4k made there and back pleasant - maybe even memorable? (A350-900, Delta 3-cabin config) |

I will say this: the revamped DPS offerings (at least meals-wise) are actually quite competitive and better than many other non-US airlines.
Here’s the Singapore Airlines Premium Economy pre-arrival (second) “meal” between JFK and FRA in the last month: https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...41a89d90e.jpeg JFK-FRA: chicken with honey mustard sauce sandwich https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...b054f5cc9.jpeg FRA-JFK: Turkey salami and Gouda cheese sandwich And all soft and alcoholic drinks are served in plastic glasses. |

Regarding seating in PS on the A359, is the very back row, Row 25, a good seat to book?
