Nice -- I visited New River Gorge with my parents about 5-6 yrs ago, including stops at Natural Chimneys Park and the Woodrow Wilson library/museum, and a coal mine tour in Beckley, WV. Did not try any of the WV wineries

The lodge at Blackwater Falls State Park (WV) was always a good place for breakfast.

Morning! I've had two real cups of coffee and two very weak cups of coffee.

Devils Backbone
  • Mile 842 Hoppy Lager 7.7%, 48 IBU — very good
  • Brut Extra Dry IPA 5.9%, 27 IBU — interesting, not sure I’d order again
  • Maibock 7.4%, 24 IBU — a bit maltier than the one from Paducah
  • Eight Point IPA 6.2%, 70 IBU — as good as ever
  • 16 Point IPA 9.1%, 91 IBU — wow ... just wow ^
  • Cocoa Bear Imperial Stout 11%, 50 IBU — almost as good as Holy Hand Grenade
Mrs767’s Striped Bass pale ale was also excellent

I'm home after my trip across the state. Dinner was cookies and milk. So exhausted.

doesn’t the Amtrak have a cafe car where you could have bought a sandwich or something?

Not exactly, but I did have a 40-minute connection there, forgot to wave in my haste!

I really liked Devil's Backbone when I visited in 2010. That was at the old location near Wintergreen. I haven't been back since they sold to AB-InBev (hopefully this isn't too far into OMNI territory).

this facility is on US 11, about a mile and a half north of the exit from I-64, and it’s pretty massive ... I wasn’t aware (but am scarcely surprised) that they were acquired by a major producer/distributor
