Delta 777-200ER/LR Conversions to 7HD & 7HB. Pre-mods config is 37J/36W/218Y. For all the ERs and the first LR, post-mods config was initially 28J/48W/220Y (7HD/7HB). The post-mods config for all ERs and LRs is now 28J/48W/90Y+/122Y (7CD/7CB).

Modifications are taking place at SIN and the entry and exit dates are based on SIN time (GMT + 8 hrs). Comfort + installation was done at ATL on all the 7HD>7CD conversions, and on 7106 (7HB>7CB). The remaining 9 LRs had the C + cabins installed at SIN.

lol yes I'm sure. Suites really aren't that nice. I don't get why putting a door on it qualifies it as a suite.
Also I think there is a camera under all of the ife screens, it's kind of creepy.

Ok, I agree Delta using the term “suite” is a bit of a stretch. I will say that it was the most comfortable setup in my opinion that I have flown so far on a domestic airline. I absolutely loved the door since it prevented me from having to see in my peripheral Mr. playing with my bare feet guy sitting across from me. I like that you can control the lighting, the side seats have vents, entertainment screen is fantastic and the seat was extremely comfortable. Not a fan of the shoulder harness that disappeared when I unhooked it from the lap belt. FA expected me to go hunting for it when we were landing. I declined. Suite could also have a bit more storage, but everything I want with me I was able to find a place for. Screen may be a tad close for some people, but it allowed me to not wear my glasses which is always a win in my book.

It's a motion sensor. It's supposed to "wake" the screen up when it senses your hand moving towards it.

If you look at United's 773 layout, it appears that just about 1/2 of the aircraft is for the 60 Polaris seats and the remaining 250 - 300 passengers are squeezed into the remaining portion of the aircraft. This is the question you have to ask yourself - while I may have a better upgrade chance on UA, what price do I pay if I get forced into a 3x4x3 seat in economy OR, I may have less of a chance getting an upgrade on Delta, but at least the economy seat is more livable at 3x3x3.
Delta has also decided to 'go big' on the P.E. cabin seat count (though not seat width on the A350 alas). Six rows of P.E. is double what AA has on their 772. The decision to 'right-size' J and provide a fairly large P.E. cabin suggests to me that Delta wants to protect per-seat revenue in J, and recognizes that they probably saw good early returns on the PE yield on the A350. I wonder in the next recession if DL will eek out better numbers than UA which may regret such big J cabins?

DL J cabins keep getting smaller and smaller. Most 763s are now 26J with the rest to be converted soon or be retired, the 764s are supposedly getting D1 suites which will definitely lower the # of J seats, and the 777s have gone from 44J to 37J and now all the way to just 28J. I definitely think DL is trying harder than ever to make sure every pax in D1 is paying and not using an instrument UG or having non-rev parties up in D1.

This is exactly what is happening and all diamond medallions should be worried if you value guc at all. It is soon going to be virtually impossible to upgrade into d1. And guc will be relegated to the premium select cabin.

Where has it been said 764s are getting Suites? They're too wide to install on 767s.

I'm going to be around 120K MQM this year and will stay there to roll over. I've got the AX DL Res card so already get into the lounge so will use AA/BA on some trips. Flying in the US I'm good with an aisle or window in C+. Really like DL but I fly out of MSP and the only thing I really got out of it was some good golf cart rides on a couple tight connections (no Porsche though - haha) with UG's tough. If I "think" C+ I'm never disappointed!!!!!!! Board early and settle in followed by a free drink. If I want FC then I find a good fare on DL or AA and buy it. If I want J to Europe or Asia look for the best deal I can find on SkyTeam or OneWorld and buy it. UG's have clearly dropped but in general so have J fares if one looks carefully. The utility and worth of elite status is still there but the deliverables and its use have really changed and especially in the last 2-3 years.

And what on earth has this got to do with the tread title? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

I thought relevant to this post before mine.

"This is exactly what is happening and all diamond medallions should be worried if you value guc at all. It is soon going to be virtually impossible to upgrade into d1. And guc will be relegated to the premium select cabin".

Have a great day!

While I have no idea whether DL will install Suites on the 764 (though they are going in for a refurbishment in 2019), it would be possible if they went to a 1-1-1 configuration...this would reduce D1 seat count by about 25%, close to the 24% reduction seen on the reconfigured 777 today. Also while not a direct replacement for the 744, the A359 did take over the 744 routes which reduced the D1 seat count by 33% on those particular flights...so it's not inconceivable that the 764 gets the Suites as well...

DL should take a look at the Polaris seats in the updated UA 763ERs. It's a 1-1-1- configuration and it works brilliantly. If DL can even come close to matching it, then they'll have a winner!

I'd love if they did this. While UA is awful in general, IMO anyway, they do have a winning seat.

However the seat would still be too wide for the window sides. It would extended past end of bulkhead.
