Yeah that's why I refuse to fly out of IAD. Even though the long-term parking area is usually full, I haven't been towed yet parking reasonably close to it. Same at Huntington.

Uber X?

Huntington has something like 29 spaces along one wall with signs permitting multi-day parking; there are over 30 spaces on the opposite wall where there are no such signs. I've had to park in those spaces a few times, and have not been ticketed yet. I think they have raised the price, and they now charge when you exit on Saturday, which used to not be the case. I'm using Huntington tomorrow.

Here is what the project's official website, dullesmetro.com, says about the four new stations immediately east of IAD:

The Reston/Herndon Extension consists of four stations, one that opened as part of Phase 1, and three that will open as part of Phase 2. All stations will be located in the median of the Dulles Toll Road/Dulles International Airport Access Highway.

The Wiehle-Reston East Station is located at Wiehle Avenue as is operational as of July 2014. This station is serving as the temporary terminus of the Silver Line until Phase 2 opens.

The Reston Town Center Station will be located adjacent to Reston Town Center. This station will have no dedicated parking.

The Herndon-Monroe Station will be at the intersection of the toll road and Herndon Parkway. There is currently an existing parking structure in walking distance to this station. An additional garage, with approximately 2,000 spaces will be built to the east of the current park-and-ride.

The Innovation Center Station is planned to be at the Route 28 crossing of the toll road. This station will also have a dedicated parking structure.

I can't believe that MWAA would allow WMATA to offer reduced price parking for flyers at any of these stations, other than for 24 hour parking. This is because MWAA owns the underlying ground where the access road, rail right of way and toll road are located.

While-Reston East currently offers multi-day parking and I don't see why that would go away as you can technically park there already for $4.95 (still no fee at this station to exit on a Saturday or Sunday) and take the $5 Washington Flyer to IAD.

Now that AF, KL and VS are in the pre-check program, IAD is good when you want to fly these carriers. Also, I like their lounges, particularly the VS clubhouse, where the pre-flight dining and adult beverages are pretty darn good.

Nice. I wasn't aware. I am unfortunately starting a TATL trip there in June.. DCA was $1000 more for J...

That's the only advantage that IAD has. Unfortunately I've heard that the TK secret is out, but I guess I should be able to access the AF/KL lounge during the PP restricted time since I'm holding a J ticket/have STE+.

The numbers are so small to probably be inconsequential. Plus the long-term parking would certainly also be used by people not looking to fly somewhere. WMAA trying to bully WMATA wouldn't be worth the fight, especially since the public already hates the high parking fees that MWAA charges. It would be a PR nightmare, and an easy Fox 5 story.

Yikes! Another reason why I avoid using IAD at all cost is because DL still loves to send the CR2s there. JFK is all CR2 and DTW has quite a few as well. Nothing like starting a long TATL trip all the way out at IAD and having to board one of these toucher tubes. DCA has no more CR2s and BWI doesn't have that many left.

CRJ9 in this case, thankfully. If it downgrades to a CRJ I will definitely switch to DCA.

I was at the DCA club yesterday. The bartender told me that she did not expect club renovations to be complete until June.

There was a sign behind the check-in podiums outside the club that it will be closed each of the next three weekends (4/14-15, 4/21-22, and 4/28-29).

Was at the club 2 weeks ago for my preferred late night Friday departure, the agents indicated that the podiums would be staying outside the club even once finished. They did not seem to be in favor of this as they felt removed from the club.

Yeah I'm not a fan of the desks being in the hallway. I'm not surprised that the renovations are taking longer than expected, but hopefully we'll get something good in the end. My guess is that DCA is DL's most valuable domestic outstation, and hopefully now the SC will reflect that.

The weekend closure is also announced on the website when I checked in for my ex-DCA departure. Helpful to at least know in advance, even though this itinerary is only on weekdays.

Agreed this is a weird move. How much additional space does it really net?

This was depicted in the architect's renderings of the renovated club. I would guess that the useable space inside the club would increase by 150 square feet.

I can understand the position of the concierges; it is noisy where their work stations are, as it is open air to the concourse below; and they have TSA and other riff raff wandering off the elevators and into the "protocol office" hallway.
