Friday night out of DCA was a s***storm, Sunday evening into DCA a s***storm. Then no Blue line, single-tracking on Orange / Silver, and a cab line a km long. Now actively looking for ways to avoid DCA...

I was supposed to have gotten back to DCA Saturday night, but because an 18" hole was found in the fuselage of my LAX-MSP 757 after its inbound flight from GUA, I ended up on a LAX-ATL-DCA redeye, getting back at 9 am Sunday morning. They did have blue line service south from DCA to Franconia-Springfield, but no blue line service north (they had extra yellow line trains). As to the club, I watched the end of England 6-1 Panama in there. The temporary bar is gone; they were using the new bar (although the shelves were behind the locked rolling doors) and only had Ultra on draft, and it was served out of generic plastic cups (the club in LAX T3 has branded Delta Sky Club plastic cups). The ceiling over the area in front of the buffet and back to the restrooms is still a work in progress, as is the circular lounge between the entrance and the bar. My next club time will be next Wednesday afternoon; there is something very patriotic about being at the SkyClub on the 4th of July. |

Metro needs to do a better job of telling the public their plans for the weekend; no signs anywhere at DCA on Thursday 6/21 about its weekend disruptions.

I was flying AA, so it's not just DL! There have been delays out of DCA on every single trip I've taken over the last few months, whether DL or AA, and in one case I nearly missed a flight owing to poor Metro service. The Blue line on Sunday is just a preview of what we will see when the work moves north of Braddock Road. The #5 bus from L'Enfant to IAD is looking better all the time... or maybe even Amtrak from Union Station to NY area airports (semi jk).

Apparently the official grand opening is supposed to be this Wednesday according to the bartender. looks like the hot food area is starting to come along too as there were serving ware out but nothing in the them today. |

The Blue line caused me to miss a flight a few months ago. Turned an 11AM DCA-ATL-MSY trip into a hellish 5PM DCA-JFK-MSY ordeal. At least the agent rebooked in F, which meant 200% MQMs. |
It depends IME. Usually if there is available P inventory, they'll book me into that. If not they won't force it and just grab the available F inventory.

They’re celebrating the grand re-opening today. Food is fairly sparse at lunch, but fresh and put out in small amounts so it doesn’t degrade too much (salads, sandwiches, soup, cheese, fruit, crudités, desserts). Theyr’e doing a bourbon tasting, including Woodford Reserve and Double Oaked. A server brought by a shrimp cocktail and champagne. There’s a quirky painting of a George Washington apex dispenser at the bar, and the artist is here signing prints they are giving away. Also giving away commemorative luggage tags, and have a little photo backdrop set up. Staff are everywhere and are excited about the opening. I’ve never been to this club before but I’m really enjoying my time here today. |

Did they book you into full F? Normally when I get rebooked it's still a discounted F fare, hence a 150% MQM, not the 200%.

We are camped out in the skyclub right now. They have a crab cake station going right now! The layout is pretty nice, but the seating is pretty dense. |
