Exactly why Im pushing towards VP-Ship since my company only springs for extra legroom or premium select for the majority of travel at my tier😄 - unless I can scour deals and shenanigans to score D1. Thank god for status , but everyone is a plat/diamond these days. The lists are outrageous 😩, and delta is on a mission to make back all the Covid contingency spending and then some!

If you search the forums you will see my (relative) disdain for D1 on the A350. In the past, my 63 frame found the suites a bit like a coffin: too tight, too low to the ground, a bit narrow.
I must say, however, that after about 4 years of avoiding this productIm really enjoying it. While its showing its age a bit and its still a bit tight, Im enjoying it tremendously. I think its, in large part, due to the service on this flight, and the fact that I came into the flight not expecting to enjoy it. Granted, the door is janky (and I dont get turned on by doors) and I dont need a cheeseburger 6 hours in, but the crew has been terrific - attentive but not intrusive, genuine, not saccharine - and its set me so at ease that I am truly enjoying the experience. Kudos to Delta and this crew!
I dont mind it on the 350 the 777 on the other hand was plank hard.

I am flying an A350 with suites in a few months. I was not able to find a reply to this. Is anyone able to confirm that seats 2A and 2D have larger footwells?

All even numbered seats on both sides are open. Row 3 and 5 windows are all taken.

Yes -- you can confirm with a thread search for "footwell". In fact on any DL lieflat configuration where the seats are aligned straight forward/backwards (i.e. not herringbone or angled) the first row has larger footwells.

Thank you. I saw confirmation and a picture about 1B/C using that search but was not aware it also applied to 2A/D.

This post was earlier in the thread than the post you quoted, so it might not have stood out. I trimmed the images from the quote below to conserve space but here's a direct link to the post:

Some initial impressions:
  • WOW! Having travelled in J extensively, this was easily the most spacious business class seat I have travelled in. 2A has more space, storage, and privacy than British Airways First Class.
  • Try to book 2A or 2D if you can, the footwell is huge, and the seats are still a good distance back from the galley and bathrooms. Im 6 foot 2 so this is a huge plus.
  • The doors seemed a bit gimmicky at first, but in fully flat mode, it makes for a really peaceful oasis.
  • TV screen is huge and great selection
  • Heavily advertised fast WiFi didnt work. According to the FAs, this is a known problem with the A350s
  • Service and food service has been very good, flight attendants seem proud of the aircraft.

Any other questions feel free to reach out.

Q. Have any ideas why N501DN (A359) appears to be stuck in SIN? Is the seat reduction beginning to happen all ready ?

Anyone know if DL is outsourcing A350 Mx to SIN? N501DN has just exited after being there since March 3 2023 as mentioned in reply #1494 above.

3569 is on its way to SIN for induction:
https://flightaware.com/live/flight/N569DZ

BTW, 3501 (see above) has returned from SIN and seat maps for its future flights show the standard (non-LATAM) 359 configuration. So it was just there for maintenance.

I notice that all the ex-LATAM frames have gone to SIN for mods in exactly reverse MSN order…ie from the newest to the oldest (N576DZ to N568DZ)…probably a reason for this or it’s just a coincidence, but it’s interesting to me nonetheless!

The older the plane, the more cycles it likely has, so it makes sense that DL would put the newest frames into service first to try to even that out.
