Route: SLC-EUG
Fare: Y
Status: Not at the time...
What Happened: Flight diverted to PDX due to weather. All the while I was sitting in front of two very loud and very, very intoxicated passengers whom the FAs continued to serve alcohol to. At PDX the ground staff seemed utterly helpless: took about an hour to fail to find a shuttle bus to EUG, then put everyone into a hotel about 15 miles from PDX - complete with taxi vouchers for a company that wouldn't actually pick up that far away. Seriously.
Compensation: 7500 miles.

Ironically I had put in a status match request from AS a few days before. After this I called to see if I could rescind it.

Route: MAD-ATL
Fare: Y
Status: 2x No Status/1x Gold/ 1x Silver
What Happened: Saturday morning flight out of Madrid, delayed for broken cockpit window. Delayed twice before canceling until the following day. Sunday morning the flight was delayed again. Put 4 people on two different reservations in the same hotel room (unacceptable if you ask me), but the 767-400 only has about 45 people on it the next morning (they still gave all D1 to non revs) so I got a row of comfort plus to myself.
Compensation: Two people with status received 12,500 before landing in Atlanta. Had to email/call about EU Delay compensation, all travelers got €600.

I can't understand DL's logic anymore. See the following:

One hour mechanical delay out of Boston, missed my connection to Nice. Re-booked for the next flight, five hours later than originally scheduled.

Wrote in complaining that I was disappointed that I never got any type of apology, not even a generic form letter.

Compensation: 20k miles

How is possible that a Gold in Y receives more compensation than a Diamond in J????

This si the PERFECT example of how inconsistent Delta has become these days. And this inconsistency towards customers applies in all ways things are applied towards customers.

Crazy day when a 125K frequent flyer - on a ticket probably 5x as much - gets almost half the compensation of a 50K flyer. Especially when it's a BROKEN SEAT - the last person who had a broken seat on here received something like 800 Euros back after persisting (and rightfully so - that is most of the product up there; the service is fine but the food has gone to crap this last year).

Route: BOS-JFK-DEN
Fare: C+ (upgrade after purchase)
Status: PM

Our departure from JFK was supposed to be 5PM. We took off after 2AM, after a steadily creeping delay. Combination of weather, ATC, late incoming plane, and missing crew.

Compensation: $200 voucher each for me and my wife.

Haven't had time to follow up with them on this one. But pretty ridiculous given that I've done over 20 long-hauls (5000+ miles) in paid business class this year - you'd think they'd offer something more than a handful of mostly worthless SkyMiles.

Not to make matters worse, but for some reason my complaint was answered by two separate CS reps, and they each awarded me 20k miles for the same issue!

Joining the club. Broken seat HKG-SEA. Didn’t lie completely flat but purser was able to go in manually and adjust it so it was 90% flat. Got 15K miles - he told me that was the max he could do on board. DM for past five years. Just grateful that it wasn’t completely broken.

Might have been the same aircraft. Seat 3J by any chance?

Route: SEA-GEG
Class: Main/First
Status: PM

What happened: Booked on 5 pm flight to Spokane, weather issues in Seattle all day had been causing delays, although Compass was much more affected than Skywest or mainline (or Alaska, FWIW). Flight pushed to 10pm, eventually canceled. Rebooked on what was the 8:45, also delayed until 11. Flight finally canceled around midnight, had to get hotel. Rebooked for 9 am next day. Flight doesn't leave SNA on time (where it was delayed 18 hours), eventually rebook on 11 am flight (and 930 subsequently canceled). That flight arrives (delayed 2 hours), board and realize they don't have a copliot scheduled - and then find one coming in from Eugene. Deplane and reboard, finally get home around 3 the next day. What was particularly frustrating was that Compass was the core of the problem - and while weather might have been the spark, their entire operation in SEA fell apart for the next two days. Also, no communication from Delta staff - at points GAs either missing or had no idea what was going on.

Compensation: Is there even a point to submitting this - and expect them to refund hotel? I feel odd complaining again because had a similar fiasco a month ago flying through LAX - and at some point 20k miles aren't quite cutting it...

Route: TRN-AMS-GLA (DL ticket on KL metal)
Fare: 25k SM J Award
Status: Kettle
What happened: Not the most sexy complaint, I admit. After boarding call at the gate in TRN, everyone was held on the access ramp before the jetway door for almost an hour due to a "ground power failure." Why they had everyone stand at the access ramp instead of the more comfortable gate area is beyond me. This caused only 20 minutes to make the connection in huge AMS which means I couldn't use the lounge, do work and get a meal. Also, there was a catering problem on the first flight so there were no meals there either.
The COC was technically fulfilled and I got to my destination on time, it just wasn't worth the 25k I paid. (I took an identical itinerary earlier this year and paid 25k miles, everything went great and thought it was worth it, hence I booked it again.)

Compensation: 10,000 SM

ROUTE ATL-DCA
Fare: Originally booked in (X); Upgraded to first on day of travel (Medallion)
Status: Platinum Medallion
What Happened: Bag Delay--"Lost in Transition" Took about 24 hours to get my bags.

Compensation $60 Voucher, which I believe is the standard for this--what I've always gotten. Didn't have any OOP expenses as I was staying with family.

ROUTE ATL-STL
Fare: F
Status: Platinum Medallion
What Happened: Sewage or water leak. I was in 1B bulkhead with lavatory infront of seat. The entire carpet at my seat was soaked, ruined my shoes. Couldnt prove if it was sewage water or clean water.

Compensation $100 Delta Choice (Gift card)
