Did you ask to be rebooked into FC? Was it available at the time you were rebooked? Was your GUC at least coded right to get high onto the upgrade list for the flight you did take?

Was automatically booked into Y. Asked about FC but it was full. I was on the too of the list. My F cabin was already full so I'm sure others didn't get their F seat back.

You got F for the long flight, and Y for the tiny one. If you'd known that in advance, would you still have used the GUC?

It's worth a complaint, but don't expect much.

Complained, but was very nice and respectful. Asked specifically for 12.5K miles (amount for domestic UG) and got a bit more. ^ to DL for taking care of me in this issue. I have to say, other than the canned responses I've had in the past, I think DL customer care has done a good job. Or, maybe it's the over 25K of MQD's I've spent this year that makes me more valuable than I was in the past. ;)

Earlier this week, flew DTW-GRU. Flight was delayed for 3 hours due to a mechanical issue. Stuck on the plane during those intervening hours, too.

There was a strong possibility of missing my next flight on TAM booked on a separate ticket 4 hours after the original arrival on DL53. Asked @DeltaAssist about their policies/compensation for separate ticket connections and was just given a $100 voucher out of courtesy. Luckily I barely made the connection thanks to no lines in immigration and a bit of running to the gate. Otherwise, it would have been woefully inadequate.

I posted in the other compensation thread, but we were comped gift cards (selectable from Amazon, Apple, etc.) instead of miles. Is this a new method of comping pax?

I thought the amount comped was great, but the additional miles are always nice.

I thought they weren't allowed to hold you that long any more.

It was my first time, so I'm not familiar with the procedure to be honest, but they kept moving the departure time back by 30 minutes. So 20:00 became 20:30 and then 21:00 and so forth.

At the 21:30 mark or so, the pilot said they were fixing to let us leave the plane in order to get food, but they never properly allowed people to get off the plane.

DL 2778 on 10/23 delayed for 3 hours due to mechanical problems. Funny thing is that the flight came in from SEA and the previous pilot had already reported a different mechanical problem. No food vouchers given since it was hard to predict when we would take off. Snacks and drinks were provided. We boarded, problem discovered and returned back to the gate, deplaned, reboarded since problem was "fixed", deplaned after system check failed, and then finally swapped for a new plane.

Wrote in to complain and only received 4k pesos. Am I able to request 5k instead?

DTW-MCI

Asked if they needed volunteers and they did (one..) - got on a flight 4 hours later. $500 DL voucher.

My father (newly minted FO) was flying back from IAH on the 1st. 7:40 departure pushed back, and back, and back, told it wouldnt be till 3PM, then was canceled around 9AM. They re-booked him on a 6PM flight getting him home at ~10pm instead of 10am, for almost a 12 hour delay. He was given a $50 credit. Given that there were a number of other flights all day, i felt that $50 was a slap in the face so i emailed in a complaint on his behalf, they granted him an extra 11,500 pesos. Appropriate? or should I push for more.

IAH to where? I know that what matters is the wasted time, but compensation is likely to depend on the length of the flight.
