I'm wondering what my odds will be with a situation. Cleared with RUC into F on ORF-ATL-PHX. It has been reissued.
I want to SDC to an earlier flight, where ORF-ATL is 0 in F, but open on the ATL-PHX leg. What are the odds I'll be able to convince them to downgrade me to Y on the ORF-ATL but keep me in F on the new ATL-PHX portion? |

if you only are confirmed with a RUC on one segment on a 2 leg flight can you same day confirm both parts in first if their are first class seats available

Called to SDC flights for my wife and myself booked with AmEx companion ticked and upgraded at time up booking to first using RUCs. Agent #1 said that we could not SDC as the original fare bucket was sold out on the new flights and held her ground when pointed to KM info above. HUCA. Agent #2 said that we could not SDC as we were booked on companion tickets and held his ground when pointed to KM info above. HUCA. Agent #3 said that we could not SDC as the OL fare bucket was not available but then agreed to change the flights when pointed to KM info. After she changed the flight, she told me again that the OL fare bucket was supposed to be available due to rule changes post-2/1 and that she requested that KM be updated. Another odd thing is that after she changed the flight, SDC options showed up in my app, whereas those options were not available prior to the change.

Were they outside 24 hours before you called? The app is known to be buggy and only shows options within 24 hours even though SDC on DL is supposed to be eligible to anything the same calendar day of departure.

Trying to SDC a flight where I cleared my RUC to FC. The app shows the SDC button but says that no available flights exist, but booking shows that other flights have FC inventory, but only for GUC and not RUC. Running into issue where agents won't SDC unless there is RUC upgrades available. Wish the app would work since HUACA and citing the KM linked in the wiki isn't getting too far. Last agent said that the KM now states that after using an upgrade cert the member must relinquish the upgrade and apply the cert again if there is space in that upgrade cert category.
Side note: never experienced such rude agents before. one called me a liar and said they were going to add notes to my account to make sure that no one can help with this. Wow. |

This is just pure comedy now. Agent is now saying that while the app shows confirmed change possible and they see it on their end too, he refused to process it since he knew the rules didn’t allow what the system was willing to do.
Haven’t flown DL much during Covid but I don’t remember the service being this actively customer unfriendly. |

Comes down to agents will not do SDC unless RUC space is showing on new flights. After 5th call I just gave up due to a new excuse each time. |
You have a lot of different things you're throwing out there all at once. What specifically did the agent say "the rules don't allow this" to?
