Is this ticket refundable?

I bought a First Class ticket A class and used a companion certificate. I can no longer make the trip. I can't find anywhere whether this ticket is refundable. I know I lose the companion cert but I am thinking that any A fare is refundable. Unless the answer is buried in code - I can't find a definitive answer. Would like to know what the rules are before I call. It says it is refundable if purchased at a fully refundable fare. How do I determine that?

Doesnt appear to be refundable looking at NON-REFUNDABLE / CHANGE FEE

Many of these Coach to First instant upgrade fares have change fees.

I cannot seem to find the full fare rules on EF and not sure why

GSO-RNO has the following fare basis

Outbound: LA07A0NQ/WNUP

Return: QA14AXNQ/WNUP

$200 change fee. I don't think I have ever seen a refundable A fare and would be very surprised to see one on any route.

It's even more common with B, M, S, and H-UP fares that book into P class.

Need to know the date OP purchased the ticket to pull up the historic fares in ExpertFlyer. You're right, though, that NON-REFUNDABLE / CHANGE FEE probably tells OP everything he needs to know. Unless you don't trust DL IT to get things like that right.

OP seems to have a L-UP fare. I suspect it's not refundable but will result in a DL credit when cancelled, so that it can be changed for a $200 fee but cannot be turned in for cash or a credit to the original means of payment.

I tried 20 different ticketing dates in ef going back to July 13 many of the same fares were there just with different start and end dates. always so close but one or two digits off in the last 4. I peeked at most of them and all had change fee

I submitted a refund request online. When I pressed the cnx button it offered a request refund button.

After 5 days I got an email which refunded me 100% to my credit card! Yeah!

Another case of never accept your first second or third answer

Congrats to OP, though I am shocked. I was able to find the exact fare rules on EF by using 4/4/2014 as the ticketing date -- both of the fares (LA07A0NQ/WNUP and QA14AXNQ/WNUP) show nonrefundable with a $200 change fee.

There was a change in schedule - minor - plus I mentioned I changed due to cross country move required for job.. Don't know if those played any role...

Bottom line. Never hurts to ask....and ask nice!
