Last year stats were $9131/80 segments/89,331 miles flown. That earned me 178,xxx miles as platinum w/ 100% bonus match. It allowed me to fly the wife or other family on 7 free round trip flights throughout the year (assuming I got them a good itinerary at the 25k level, which I've had success at in being flexible). Based on 9points/dollar, I would have earned just 82,xxx miles. Or enough for 3 roundtrip tickets assuming I get them at 25k/each. Great devaluation.

Losing 94,000 miles a year on average under the new rules.

Me too, unfortunately. By this time last year, I had already earned 10,000 miles for two roundtrips. I have only earned about 3,000 miles this year so far, and just one roundtrip. I am already behind the game, and will get further behind. Priorities have shifted for me. Nice flying whilst I could, and I miss it, but age and health problems have crept up on me tenfold this year.

It won't affect me at all, I've actively gone out of my way not to fly DL since the last round of "improvements" to their disloyalty program.

IIRC using the Amex adds an additional 2 miles per dollar so Platinum is 11 and Diamond is 13

I doubt that'll happen, but if they do, I'll stay

I'm thinking they were just noting the normal Delta Amex 2 miles per dollar bonus you get on the card since it sounds better. I haven't seen any language to make me think that a PM that buys a ticket will get 11 miles per dollar on the flight and then the additional 2 miles per dollar on the card like usual.

I'll probably stop flying Delta. I fly a lot between RNO and PRG and typically get 12,000 miles. I'll get half as many in the new program.

Just did the math for the first leg of my trip. I've been buying nothing but WFBF fares lately but I'll lose 6200 miles a trip base on my current trip.
Bad move DL.

Disappointing! For the casual traveler (4-5 times per year mostly on my one money) this is definitely not good. I struggled to maintain Silver status even using AMEX. I'll definitely drop the card and focus on AA or UA, get a VISA card through United most likely.
