I think on DL domestic 757s the FAs should block the Y aisle only until the first few F pax get off. When the inevitable jam-up occurs when an F passenger is having trouble getting a bag out of the overhead bin, common sense should prevail and the FAs should start letting the Y pax off. Then it works pretty well from there, as the inevitable jam-ups start happening in Y, allowing the F people toward the flight deck easy egress to the jetway.

This is a retarded idea.
The time spent deplaning is due to the narrow aisles blocking people from moving while people get their bags from the overhead bins.
To hold up people in Coach implies that they think there's a "logjam" at the door.
Truly moronic of any airline or FA that chooses to do this, imo.

I fly FC far more often than coach, and I certainly enjoy as much as the next person those opportunities where I am allow to feel "special."
But, I am against this practice... at least for domestic flights.
Reason: there is just too great a likelihood for someone on a domestic flight to be delayed, have a tight connection, etc.
Imagine the frustration of someone in that position being roadblocked by an FA seeking to make the FC cabin feel appreciated (there are many other ways that DL could far more effectively make me feel appreciated).
Considering the small number of FC seats, and about 10X as many coach seats behind, doesn't a cooperative 1FC, 1 coach, 1 FC, 1 coach at the door work well enough?
Otherwise, it reminds me of this video oft-cited here: Coachy
Now, on the other hand, I have a different opinion about international. My perception (mis-perception?) is that fewer folks will have tight connection issues. And, I guess someone who payed $5K to $8K for a business class experience certainly deserves a shot at getting to immigration/customs faster.
Double standard in my part?
