Just get closer to MPM and you'll be fine.
(TLV-NYC-LAX-LAS would help, as well as using AF on the return to fly ATL-NYC-YMQ-AMS-PAR-TLV on an equivalent fare-fare rules allow this) As far as taking either KLM or AF is concerned, that is not going to happen. When I fly TLV-JFK on Delta metal, I get lie flat seats all the way. If I go on either AF or KLM, the FC seats to/from TLV-EUROPE are no different than Y seats -- with no one assigned to the middle seat. That is over 1/3 of my flight. |

I just got my "changes to MQM earnings" e-mail today.

(Then again constantly looking at it while trying to find availability for what I want is a PITA.) You are right, though, although I think you could easily buy an M fare to HNL and stopover in LAS and another city of your choice allowing you to get more than 25K EQM in one run if done correctly. (Then again knowing your thoughts on flying I don't think you would do this) |
Wonder if this thought occurred to anyone else lately. Rollover really is now not a benefit for most flyers. I mean, if you spend $12,500 on DL you pretty much should be hitting 125K MQM right? Unless you buy a ton of FC MSP-MKE flights at $800 a pop I suppose, but doesn't this seem the case for most folks?
Or do you all think MQM will be harder to reach than MQD? |

Or do you all think MQM will be harder to reach than MQD? Obviously you never needed to get to DC from NYC on short notice and forked over the >$600 for the fare and received the princely amount of 1000 MQMs for the round trip. For many domestic business travelers, $12,500 is gone in half a year. |

Are you kidding? One can spend that sort of money on short-haul business trips in the Northeast and barely make gold.

Well if you have one of the DL AmEx's and put the required $30k per year, rollover will continue just the same as it does now (at least until the rules change again).

Or in 7 weeks. :)
That's less than all my travel last year and I flew >175k BIS.

Less than 300 miles and I would drive (though traffic/parking in NYC makes this a pain IMO)

That works too.
When the rail stations are inconvenient to both your origin and your destination as they are for me, flying is a much better choice. Yes, I can get to Penn Station from my house by public transportation in less than an hour and out to my job in Virginia from Union Station in about an hour and a half but the 15-20 minute ride to LGA and the 15 minute in a rental car ride out to the job in VA beats the h*ll out of that nonsense. So sometimes we need to pay the $679 to Delta. I completely agree that a railroad from Manhattan to DC makes plenty of sense for a whole lot of travelers but cases like mine illuminate the reflexive statements like the two above and the Florida pipe dream, where almost all trips are just like mine. |

You guys sound like Obama, building a train from downtown Orlando to downtown Tampa, a route that nearly nobody needs nor will use.

(Look at China for example-the trains are almost always filled and 12306 isn't getting any faster.) What about my suggestion to drive? Besides, ORL-TPA I see quite a bit of tourists using. |
