DL granted a status match to Gold based on my WN A List preferred at the beginning of the year. I started flying more with Delta because it got me home 2.5 - 3 hours earlier, even though I still have a desire to re-earn my CP again for 2017.

After my 4 segments next week I will have earned Gold on my own. I fly 4 short segments a week CMH-DTW-ALB and they are all under 500 miles so I have to qualify based on segments instead of miles.

MQM: 30,112
MQS: 56
MQD: 6,327

Started flying for work last fall and hit FO by mid-December. Never had DL status before.

Thus far this year I feel like I've made slow progress:
MQMs: 28,018 (1,700 rolled over)
MQS: 31
MQDs: $6,636

I was hoping to hit GM by March but had almost two months of no trips :(
My big goal is to hit GM this year and aim for PL in 2018.

I was Diamond for the first time in 2016. Looks like I may fall back to Platinum in 2017. Haven't decided if it's worth it to make the effort to keep Diamond at this point.

As of today - QM - 78,515, QS - 81, Q$ - 19,380

Made platinum last week, diamond is on the horizon with weekly domestic travel and a few Int'l D1 trips on the horizon.

Unfortunately, it's all work related

I made this decision last year - chose not to requal for DM and rolled over 48k MQMs. Am now 27k MQMs shy of returning to DM.

I am debating between going for Alaska MVP 75K and Delta Diamond -- I live in LA and currently have AA Plat status and Exec Plat in three months or so. The reason for thinking of switching loyalty is because of massive AA devaluation, which makes Alaska and possibly even Delta (because of more SWUs) status more beneficial.

Delta really came into play for two reasons. One is I got the deeply discounted business fare from SFO to IST for early next year. I am guessing I should be getting around 26,000 MQM, if my understanding is correct.

So, I was thinking about getting the two Amex Delta card this year. Can I roll these 20,000 MQM to next year, so, that way, I will have 46,000 MQMs by Feb…get another 25,000 MQMs next year by credit card spending and that way, I will have to fly around 50K miles to reach Diamond?

Does MQD increase if I buy a ticket for another person? If can tickets purchased under my account for other travellers

Nope, your sky miles account only tracks your MQM and MQD, it's not combined or you don't accrue for 2 people.

I made GM at the beginning of May. I had 2 short trip after that and one Int. trip to NRT. Today I'm at:
MQM; 66485
MQS: 30
MQD: $7743

I hope I can make PM in a few months. It will be my first time ever if I do. I have already started seeing some good upgrades from just being GM

Just re qualified for Diamond for 2017 with MQD and miles. And its only June 6th. Yeeeessshh
I should have quite a few roll over miles to start next year. Too bad the MQDs dont roll over :D

mridley2 Jun 6, 2016 2:05 pm

bonus MQM's using RUC (RP/OP class)??

Booked JFK-LAX-PHX rt coach fare and used 2 RUC's to upgrade to D1/First at time of booking.

The outbound leg only posted the usual MQM's for economy fare--no bonus for being in first class.

I was under the impression that upgrades using certificates qualified for bonus MQM's? Just not sure If i should send in a mileage redemption request or not.

thanks

Nope. RP/OP gets the SDC benefits but not the MQMs.

Upgrades from ATL for a GM? Wow! (Unless you mean C+ "upgrades".)

For people who have Amex Delta Reserve card, how many MQMs can be gifted every year and also how frequently? If it is one time a year, I am assuming the max that can be gifted would be 24,999 points. Thanks.
