Got 5,000 SM and a $50.00 Voucher for responding to an in-flight medical emergency.
The FA asked for my SM#. I told her that I'd been glad to help and that no compensation was needed but she evidently got the number some other way. I had also emailed Customer Care to praise the FA's for their handling of the situation and requested that the FA's performance be noted in their records and communicated to them. |
An unsolicited 25K for a wx last Monday of a Chautauqua LGA-SDF.

1/14: DL173 diverted to NGO for a few hours and arrived at NRT about four hours late due to snowstorm. Unsolicited 10,000 miles showed up a few days later.

Mechanical IROPS on flight results in vouchers for next flight
Flew from BRU-JFK yesterday in BE, and flight was delayed 2.5 hours because the inbound flight left four hours late from JFK... apparently it had a mechanical issue and passengers/baggage had to be deplaned and put on a 'spare' plane. That resulted in a downgrade in the BE cabin (and the rest of the plane, really) to an older and somewhat worn-out configuration, but Delta was nice enough to give BE passengers a $100 voucher for the 'inconvenience' of not having flat-bed seats.
What I don't get is that everyone in coach was also inconvenienced by the delay, but in spite of BE being half empty, Medallion members in coach weren't upgraded, which would have been a nice bit of compensation for them. |

2/4/2013 - bru - jfk
DL141 - 2/4/2013 - BRU:JFK - $500 in flight vouchers ($100 X 5) - Delayed 2hrs 15 min due to mechanical with inbound aircraft.
I am DM and wife is GM and we had 3 kids under 7 in tow. Since the delay would cause us to spend lunch in the airport, I went to the gate and asked for food/beverage vouchers. I was told there were none. I pressed, and the Swissport employees continued to say there were no vouchers. I asked for a Red Coat, the Swissport employees argued more, and I ask again for the Red Coat. The Red Coat had already been up to the BA Lounge and handed out vouchers to the BE passengers (see above post, vouchers were for the downgrade in flat-beds). Finally the Swissport employees backed off and called someone on the radio. Then someone called on the phone. The situation was explained, and they told me to come back in 30 minutes and I would have vouchers. 30 minutes pass, my family and I leave the lounge and go to get the meal vouchers. When I arrive at the gate, there is a gentleman that talks to me and says that vouchers are not available. The delay isn't long enough is his argument. He also tells me he thought I was in business class (the swissport employees told him 3 times I was in economy). I didn't back down, explaining that I was already promised them, and Delta has had no problem accommodating this request in the past. He steps away, comes back and says they will make a one time exception. He goes to the desk, spends 10 minutes printing vouchers, comes back to me and apologies again. He hands me this huge stack of ticket stock and apologies again. I start to walk to get food and I look at the stock, 2 pages of T&Cs and then a $100 voucher; one for each passenger. All I wanted was 50 EUR for lunch. |

I suppose that's helpful for those that wish to partake :-)

I got a $50 "Choice Gift" because I wrote to DL about being moved from Economy Comfort to an Exit Row seat last week. I was on a 757 and had 16A - first row of EC on that 757 configuration right by the L2 door. Selected that seat when I booked my ticket. When I checked-in I saw I had 24A - Exit Row. When I boarded, I saw the configuration was the same configuration as when I booked my ticket, and 16A was now occupied by someone else.
I was only expecting a couple thousand miles at most to be thrown my way. Wasn't expecting a $50 Choice Gift at all. |
I was on a msp atl flight and the gogo wasn't working. Was offered a $25 choice card. Was a 3 hour flight during business hours and I have a monthly gogo subscription.
Asked them to up it. Will let you know what comes back. |
Ok, got the response.
They provided a $75 voucher. Also the choice email came through so I guess I get both.

On DL all pax on the PNR get the "one extra bag" additional Medallion baggage allowance, but this is NOT conveyed by all (or maybe any other) Skyteam members.
Prior to the trip I had asked DL what my allowance was for my trip to MNL on DL & CZ and they said the extra Medallion allowance was conveyed and a supervisor in ATL noted this in my itinerary in my PNR. I curb checked six 70LB bags in FLL with no problem (Business class), but when I rechecked in at CZ at LAX, they made me pay $160 for one of the bags. When I brought this to DLs attention they stated that CZ was correct to charge for the 6th bag and offered a $200 voucher for their screw up. |
9500 miles for baggage delay of 22hrs, which upon arrival my clothes were soaking wet. Luckily it was returning from vacation so didn't need to wear the shorts tshirts.
Waiting for word on compensation or repair of one bag which was damaged well beyond 'normal' wear and tear. |
What should I expect? Broken BE recliner and in seat power?
Pleased to be on a flight with the recliner seats for the first time ever(!).
However, I noticed the seat got stuck in recline. Figured I was doing something wrong and was eventually able to get it back up very haltingly. Then it occurred to me that the seat is just broken. Decided not to chance getting stuck in the down position and told the FA the seat's not working. In seat power also busted - probably related to the power problem with the recline. Should I expect automatic compensation? The FA took note of the broken seat and broken power plug. Or should I email customer service? What is a common compensation for these issues? (I'm a new delta flyer...so thanks in advance for the tips!) |
