The rumors are true, but your dates are safe. The nonstops end November 17/18.

According to the the DM line who checked with the person in charg of scheduling they say end of Oct, the other flights just have not been zeroed out yet.

They offered to rebook me but I declined as I want to look at routing options on my own first. They said they did not know when it was going to be "officially" announced as she still see the seats as zeroed out, which she kept referring to as sold out.

The agents see D0 C0 I0 S0 Y0 B0 M0 H0 Q0 K0 etc. and they think it is sold out, but all it means is that the flight is no saleable

I have heard from a friend of mine who is a frequent traveler on this route and has inside contacts at DL and he was told that they are going seasonal for six months, but then it should be back to normal.

Well..if I was going to give up a route that gives you 10k MQM a pop, then it'd have to be with a change in loyalty over to *.

That's definitely not a no-brainer, unless you like flying 75s and 74s across the ocean all the time.

Sunday only? Fairly ridiculous on this route. What I've never understood is when agents give explanations that they make up since they're not sure of the right answer, especially not going to extra mile when dealing with an informed frequent traveler. Somehow when I called, while they had to check, they were able to confirm in 10 min that the flight was indeed cancelled.

My reservation still shows the IST-JFK flight. Not sure what's taking so long to update the itinerary and show me different rerouting options on other carriers.

I have JFK - IST flight 10/31 and return 11/7 and it still shows nonstop.
Return looks pretty empty from seat chart.

I called back today to have them change my itinerary. While I am not thrilled about it they also changed my originating city which means I don't need to ORD to fly out. Even though I get in later, I can shower at AMS. I had to remind myself this was a cheap MQM run and I didn't want to give those up. The going price for my new ticket was $1200, I paid 383.

The flight is still scheduled to be running on your dates. As mentioned earlier, it stops operating later in the month.

Well, I tried again to change my Jan reservation with the DM line, and after 30 minutes of "researching", the supervisor "confirmed" that the IST-JFK flight is still flying in early January. It's just full! They all are!:mad:

Short of calling again for a third time, any ideas for what I can do besides just waiting around for the yellow screen message at delta.com on my rez?

Changes seem to come out on Saturdays - I'm waiting to see if there are changes tomorrow.

I guess it's called "the curse of FlyerTalk" :p
We are better informed than the consumer reps, but the consumer reps refuse to believe that and go by what the screen in front feeds them. As a consequence, our "superior knowledge" yields nothing but frustration ;)
