I would think as a PM there should be some miles or a voucher.

I got a $200 voucher for being stuck in ATL on a TPA-ATL-HSV trip. TPA-ATL was delayed due to a mechanical issue.

Presume that OP has by now read the Contract of Carriage for his ticket and learned that he wasn't entitled to any compensation at all (including hotel + meal voucher).

If he wants to file a whine with DL, they will probably throw some token his way. But, compensation: No.

Mechanical is entitled to hotel + meal vouchers per CoC, no?

I just did read the CoC.

This is a quote:
The applicable limits of liability for your international journey on a flight ticketed by this carrier are:In the case of delay to your journey, 4,694 Special Drawing Rights per passenger.

4,694 SDR is ~$7000.
So I guess that is the maximum compensation that could be received, not that I would ever expect a fraction of that.

Wrote in about two issues.

- DL 2124 MSY-ATL 757. Volume on the PA system was stuck at the highest level possible. Richard Anderson came on and if you think it's annoying normally, just wait until you hear it at an ear splitting level. Try as they might, FAs couldn't figure out how to lower it. This meant, no IFE. Wrote in to suggest either training/m/x for that aircraft.

- ATL B25 Skyclub. No internet either wired or wireless for the 2.5 hours I was there.

Seven hours after I wrote in I received a phone call apologizing to me, saying they'd look into it, and giving me 5,000 Skymiles. The phone call and the apology were a nice touch ^

Delta is just going to point to the Contract of Carriage for International flights which can be found at http://images.delta.com.edgesuite.ne...riage_intl.pdf. Essentially, absent statutory compensation for ex-EU flights, this is what governs your compensation. In a nutshell, for delays that do not involve force majeure, it only provides for food vouchers starting at 4 hour delays and hotel accommodations for overnight delays. Which is exactly what you were provided with.

That's liability for what might happen as the result of your delay, not some CS gift to make you feel better. You would still have to prove the damages. It's just a limitation on what you might get.

Where in the COC is that?

240(c)

Unlike weather, mechanical delays are not typically seen as force majeure events (unless you're WN).

Obviously you are not entitled to 'mandatory' compensation but I am curious what you believe would be just and fair comp by DL.

7500 miles for a flight from JFK-LAS where GoGo was inop, in seat power was inop, and AVOD was inop. That was a really boring 5.5 hours.

I guess 1/100th of an award ticket is better than nothing.

Well I lost a day of work.
What do I think is fair? Probably more then I will get. Maybe a $500 voucher, which I surely don't expect.

6000 miles for broken Phones Jack in BE last week on DUB-ATL

What kind of an award ticket is 750,000 SMs?;)
