Understood but I'd have a little talk with the person booking to have them pay a little attention to what they are booking and if it is coming back "Y" fares, then try "P" and see if the pricing changes.

Apparently, it comes back as a FC code and she has to do a bunch more justification. It is easier for her to pay more and put me in a Y fare than a P or A... Accountants... I blame them...

So I get to the airport and talk to the gals there I know pretty well. Not only do I get the upgrade, but a Gold gets one and sits next to me... (lovely lady btw)... and they are selling them for $50... Glad I got upgraded and all, but I kinda felt like I was a Non Rev... Ya ya, I know, I could have purchased a FC ticket and not dealt with this.... but, I spend a good bit with Delta and am sadly loyal and I could have been usurped by a few Silvers or even worse a Kettle with a much lower fare and US Grants picture.... Sour Times...

So, 27+ people on the UG list and they were selling it for $50 at the gate? Hmm...DL has put a distinct price on my loyalty.

Wow did a whole ton of people no-show or miss the flight? If there were 27pax on the upgrade list, then they'd almost all have to not be there for them to be selling u/g at the gate.

I think you mis-read the post. It looks like all elites cleared.

In all seriousness- I understand. On a less serious note Bombay could drown the sorrows.

Hell, there were a ton of seats open in back. I have no idea what occurred. I know that non revs and people from a later flight also got on. Makes me wonder what the hell that list you see on the www really means... again, I am not .....ing as I did get upgraded... but I can tell you that I have done this a good while and never had it go down like this.... Oh well, on to the next one...

All I know is a Gold sat next to me and she cleared. Non revs and a few flight changeers were in back. There may have been 80 total on the plane. That 27 number is really making me wonder...

I can tell you when you end up in front as a non rev after they have sold all the upgrades they can sell you're probably traveling with the don't get out much crowd (DGOMCs). Bless their hearts they can't even make up the extra $50 they spent on booze IME. Be nice to them, they mean no harm...the DGOMCs I mean.

The rolling spring break season is upon us, wonder if that has kept some biz travelers off their normal routes? Don't know what route you were flying but around ATL it seems various school systems will be out over the next 3-4 weeks.

Overheard in the terminal this morning...(Amex and FCM)

I had to book this flight three days ago for $425 and then it was only $75 more to upgrade to First Class so I said why not! Man, ive never been in first before!

Look, mom. We get to board just after the first class people in zone 1 because I signed up for that Delta Amex!
Oh well, I guess it's working for them...

You do realize that this is not FCM but, more likely, the fare bucket available in Y and the lowest fare bucket in F were only $75 apart. I've had a number of instances where F was actually cheaper than Y. Not sure how that happens, but I've seen it.

If the ticket really was only $425, I'd bet that it was FCM. Not sure what route this was, but $500 for the lowest bucket in F doesn't sound like anything other than FCM.
